As of this year, we're moving to Dreamwidth entirely this year. LJ's recent track record with site viability isn't exactly encouraging, and we'd like to keep everything in one location, so we will not be crossposting to the LJ community anymore. The posts in the LJ community will stay as an archive.

You can still sign up and join the community using openID (here's how!), or you can get a Dreamwidth account (here's a guide for LJ users switching to DW).

The biggest change we're introducing is breaking up the main wave of the big bang into two smaller waves. Over the last three years, we've had approximately 6-7 months from start to finish, with a month and a half for making art. This has led to enthusiasm petering out partway through, and a number of participants dropping out before finishing their stories. We'll be adopting a two-wave system, based on the wordcount of the stories. The shorter stories (minimum 5K) will come first, and then the longer ones (minimum 10K).

Right now, the sign-ups for the reversebang round are open - artists and authors.

The regular big bang sign-ups will be opening in a couple of weeks, so keep an eye on originalbigbang, originalbigbang, or originalbigbang for an update on those dates. For more information, check out our 2013 info post, the FAQ, and come join us!

Hey everyone! There are still some of you who have not checked in over at the last, MANDATORY check-in post. We'd like to be able to get our records up to date as soon as possible, so if you haven't yet, please fill out the poll. The check-in post is also the drop-out post, if you feel you won't be able to finish.

We're pushing the post-begin date for the Reversebang round to June 8. We apologise for the sliding deadline, but unfortunately it's become necessary.

Hey everyone! Fics for the reversebang round are due today!

If you've finished, had your fic beta'd and polished up, and are absolutely sure you're done working on it, here's what you do:

• please make sure your subject line is OFBB reversebang - fic - your username - art #

  Please Note: You MUST include warnings for rape, dub-con, incest, graphic self-harm/suicide and character death. Any other warnings you wish to make are at your own discretion.
  
  
• attach your story as a .doc, .rtf, or .txt attachment - please do not send the story in the body of the e-mail
  
• if you wrote for more than one piece, please send your stories in separate e-mails
  
• send it to originalbigbang@gmail.com

We will provide you guys with a template for the posting format closer to the posting time. Once again, it will be the artists making the master posts to the comm, so if there are any dates that you cannot post on (between June 3rd and 14th), please let us know in the comments and we'll adjust the posting schedule accordingly.

Mods apologise in advance if we're a little slow in replying to people - RL has struck, but we'll do our best to stay on track.

We still need some pinch-hitters for the reversebang! Please drop by the claims post and sign up if you can help out. If you're helping out but weren't originally signed up for either round (thank you, you're awesome!), please leave your e-mail address so we can send you the art.

The deadline for the fics has been officially moved! It is now May 29th, so you get an extra week to work on things. Posting will now start June 3rd.
