Privacy Policy
Last updated: April 2, 2026
1. Introduction
Orbiscend ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our products: Argon, Theia, and Dike (collectively, "Services").
Our Services are built on Atlassian Forge, which means your data is stored and processed within Atlassian's secure cloud infrastructure. We do not operate our own data storage servers for customer data.
We also collect email addresses through our website when you download resources or subscribe to our newsletter. This data is processed separately from our Atlassian Forge applications, as described below.
2. Data We Collect
2.1 Data Stored in Atlassian Forge
All application data is stored within Atlassian Forge's secure storage. This includes:
- Configuration settings for the apps
- User preferences
- Any data generated through app usage within Jira or Confluence
2.2 Third-Party Integrations
Theia and Dike connect to GitHub to provide their functionality. When you authorize these integrations, we access:
- Repository metadata (names, branches, commit history)
- Pull request information
- Issue data (for linking purposes)
Argon does not connect to any external services and operates entirely within the Atlassian ecosystem.
3. Website Data Collection
3.1 Email Collection
When you download resources from our website (e.g. the JQL Cheat Sheet), we collect your email address. We use this information to:
- Deliver the requested resource
- Send our newsletter (if you have opted in)
The legal basis for this processing is your explicit consent (GDPR Art. 6(1)(a)), which you provide by submitting the download form.
3.2 Newsletter
We operate the "JQL Tricks & Use Cases" newsletter. Your subscription is managed by Kit (ConvertKit Inc.), acting as our data processor under a Data Processing Agreement (DPA).
- Kit stores your email address, subscription status, and engagement data (opens/clicks)
- We use double opt-in: you must confirm your email before receiving newsletters
- Every email contains an unsubscribe link
- You can request deletion of your data at any time via privacy@orbiscend.com or the unsubscribe link in any email
Kit's privacy policy is available at kit.com/privacy.
4. Data Subprocessors
For our Atlassian Forge applications, we do not use third-party subprocessors. Your application data is:
- Stored exclusively within Atlassian Forge infrastructure
- Not transferred to any third-party data processors
- Not sold, rented, or shared with third parties for marketing purposes
For Theia and Dike, GitHub integration is a direct connection from your Atlassian instance to GitHub—we do not store GitHub data on intermediate servers.
For our website newsletter, we use Kit (ConvertKit Inc., USA) as a data processor to manage email subscriptions, as described in Section 3.2.
5. How We Use Your Data
We use your data solely to:
- Provide and maintain our Services
- Improve and optimize our Services
- Respond to your requests and support inquiries
- Comply with legal obligations
6. Data Retention
Your data is retained within Atlassian Forge for as long as you use our Services. When you uninstall an app, all associated data stored in Forge is deleted according to Atlassian's data retention policies.
Newsletter subscriber data is retained until you unsubscribe. Upon unsubscription, your data is deleted from Kit within 30 days.
7. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- Access: Request access to your personal data
- Rectification: Request correction of inaccurate data
- Erasure: Request deletion of your personal data
- Portability: Request a copy of your data in a portable format

To exercise these rights, please contact us at privacy@orbiscend.com.
8. International Data Transfers
As our Services operate within Atlassian Forge, data transfers are governed by Atlassian's infrastructure and policies. Atlassian maintains appropriate safeguards for international data transfers, including Standard Contractual Clauses where applicable.
