All went well

Dear Journal,

All went well, last night. The cats behaved like gentlecats, and slept in their chosen places. Mister Kitty snuggled with me, and was happy. Around 3:45 AM Jack wanted out, and went home. At 4:20 AM Millie the Mooch asked out, and I was pleased to see that there were no raccoons around! Mister Kitty must have been very pleased to find that our guests had left. I gave him some kibble and tuna for his breakfast at 6:30 AM. It was a peaceful house, and no one had sharpened their claws on the furniture (yay!). Thus ended a night with 3 cats in our house! I hope the little raccoon doesn't visit again asking for food. There are plenty of things in the wilder parts of our neighbourhood for a raccoon to eat! Until I write again, I remain,
Your friend,

CATS, CATS, and more CATS!

This evening we are acting as a safe house for cats. The neighbour's cat, Jack, is visiting. A stray known as "Millie the Mooch" is visiting, and our own cat, Mister Kitty, is indoors. The reason for these cats being in our house is this: There is a Raccoon haunting our front door! It is probably a yearling raccoon, but just to be on the safe side, the cats are staying with us for safety. It is well known that a Raccoon will eat a cat if it is hungry enough. We do not want any of these cats to fall prey to the Raccoon! At the moment Jack is sleeping on Mom's bed, near her feet. Millie the Mooch is sitting on the rocking chair, and Mister Kitty is glaring at her from behind the potted cacti. It is most amusing, and I wonder if they can all get along for the night, since we are all stuck together for the nonce! Each time I look out of the front window I see the little masked bandit staring back at me. It is a hungry raccoon. I know this for a fact because it sniffs the empty food bowls that are sitting on our front step, and sits up and begs very nicely! Poor thing! But we have decided not to put out any food, in future, unless we are certain that Millie the Mooch is definitely going to eat it!

I do hope that all three cats get along, and don't create havoc during the night! I'm staying up to keep an eye on Mister Kitty, and Millie the Mooch. I know they don't get along. I wonder where Millie's home is? I wish her people would come and get her. Mister Kitty is annoyed, and is keeping an eye on Millie. I suppose things might be peaceful enough if I were to go to bed. Well, time will tell. Good night. I'll report in the morning.
