sometimes i trip out, staring at miles, thinkin, " i am going to raise this baby into a man?!"--and not just any kind of man but a respectful and responsible man.

and suddenly, i have hope for even more good guys in this world.

....is dwindling. i'm practically starving. being married to this fiend of all record fiends (and i thought i was a fiend before!)--has taken its toll. he has been on the hunt. i admit, i've gotten lazy and use to him bringin in all the dope shit. but now, i MISS that feeling--of finding at least 1 or 2 records. I feel crazy since I haven't really bought shit. I mean, I bought a few records..like Dilla's new LP--which I love. BUT, i havent been doin the dirt that I use to do. and i really miss that. those extra dollars go to buying Miles' his diapers and organic babyfood. but see, I love buying him all those little things too...and then some.

In order for me to really get back into that hungry, driven music-making mode, I will have to go digging. I need to take a Sunday off from Miles and hit the markets. I just feel crazy when I don't buy records--even A record. I feel crazy when I don't have that time for myself to just skratch...to just play some of my favorite records. And nowadays, as a mother--i need these spaces to balance it all out and still have time for myself.

Especially since, Skratchcon is coming back here in SF in 2 months, I gotta totally get back into the groove. Right now, I've been warming-up. What's stopping me? I mean, besides being a full-time mother...This is my only hustle. and boy, do i gotta hustle for this pamilya. Jus is on the hustle. everything in life is a hustle.

the Justice League was the first spot i ever mixed at back in 2001 for the Sisterz of the Underground's 1st show. that spot is nostalgic...but its missing all the Twist characters on the walls. nowadays its called the independent but many years before that--i remember seein Black Star, Bahamadia rock it at the Lyricst Lounge show on prom nite. i skipped prom cause i was never really into that type of shit and got to see one of the best shows.

Thursday night was nice. There we were, 4 years after the first time we had a show there, performing alongside other Vtown acts. One thang's fosho, Vallejo has many different kinds of talents. I really enjoyed Topcat's and Snaykeyez' performance. that was pretty hype...and sometimes i forget that the homie dan is a dope ass dj...hahaha...
Dee & i had fun skratchin even tho our sound was fucked up. its a new feelin to skratch when my belly is growing more and more...feels a lil different...my baby is already performing..that's whats fun about it :)

Justin made it in just in time. he's a sweetie. i'm so forgetful nowadays...i have to call him to bring in all the lil thangs i needed (forgot my slipmats, quarter-inch adapters, oh and my big ol' head)...i'm thankful for this Good Brotha..Acey & Ab-rude was right..."you need a GB in yo life--you need a GB in yo life...".

tonite is DMC SF regionals at Cocomo. i wanna peep that...TNT twins are performing as well as Teeko, Ales, B-Cause & Mike Boo...yeeeeeeeahhhh!

it sho feels like summer in Vallejo right now :) this is the weather i'm talkin bout...hot, sunny, a cool breeze...makes it difficult to be in doors!

i'm still on the job hunt and no luck yet. i don't think i'm meant to get that 9 to 5. if i got at least 4 regular gigs a week i wouldn't need to get that 9 to 5. wassup w/ bay area promoters...hook me up with some gigs universe!

well if i aint out there workin i gotta get some shit done in the lab at least for today. get back into practicing my craft...

I'm in the V today an its raining! what's goin on w/ June yo?! i need to get my mac fixed...the power supply went out. that sucks. all i can do is read a book...so i decided to re-read Dogeaters for fun.

Justin left for Hawaii last night which will ofcourse be nice since he'll be back in his hometown with his fam. in the mean time, i gotta get myself a job of some sort or get more gigs...which ever comes first!

i think i'm gonna get some bangs. a haircut is long overdue and i need to do something different...i think the last time i had bangs was in 5th grade...ok i'm hungry now time to snack!!

SATURDAY JUNE 11th :: DA JOINT @ MILK




after visiting Canada...Virginia Beach....and D.C.---i'm back in Ohio and itching to go back home to the Bay. there's no place like the Bay. i also miss my lil doggies..homegirls..and ofcourse, Justin. as soon as i get off that plane--i'm heading home to grab some clothes..records...then straight to Frisco.

Virginia Beach felt like a big Vallejo with an H & M. oooh how i love me some H & M. i finally got to shop and i copped some cute accessories and skirts and even tanktops...i'm not much of a girlygirl dresser but for those prices i was like what the hell i'll buy it all! :) anyways summer is here and who knows--maybe ill get to wear these clothes in Hot weather.....hopefully Frisco stays Hot. the gloomy and stormy weather here is draining! highlights of the trip include seeing my uncles drunk as fuck. yes kristinthegreat, your dad was OFF THE HOOK! hopefully he doesn't delete the pictures i shot of him in action! hahahahaha :) other cool things: i got to meet cousins i never knew and talk to Iris & Jonjon more. these cousins can sing! i wish i could sing...but i guess my musical thang was really meant to just be on the turntables...Jonjon is gettin married in Vegas in June..hopefully i can make it but ill see wassup after this job interview at the VYDC. hope it goes well! two Escalantes have babies out in V.A. Isaac threw up on my shoulder as i carried him and laughed afterwards! cuhwayzee babies yo....

i miss skratching and playing all kinds of music at my leisure. i have my vestax portable but havent gotten a chance to dig yet..its been a family type of trip. but as soon as i get back i need to cut.....i heard Q was moving back to the Bay and i'm juiced for that!
