Another side effects of the sliding timescale is that it gets increasingly funnier from Steve's perspective that Nick Fury Sr is just there. Like in the 60s it's only been 20 years so it's perfectly reasonable the Howling Commandos are there and still alive. But we're at a point now where it's been 80 years so the idea of him getting out of the ice and everyone he knows is dead and the world looks completely different and WW2 is a distant history lesson to most and then he turns and that one asshole who hates him from WW2 is there and inexplicably has aged at most 15 years. I mean it's insane.
There's one man in the world left who understands what you went through because all your other friends are either dead or have changed fundamentally as people but he's kind of the same but unfortunately he's also an asshole who doesn't like you. Insane situation to be in.
