Not anymore anyway. Funny how some people can come back to life after adversity. I'll post more when it strikes me, Im shocked I still have a LJ to be honest.

At work they added LJ to filtered sites on the server so I havent had access. i mean I could have done it from home but I basically just sleep and eat there, lol.
So today Im at work, click the link and bam im back.

I havent been able to access LJ at work at all they filtered me for some time for some reason lol. While I havent recommitted in depth to LJ I will still attempt to post more.
Someone at work asked me about madoff and the ponzi scheme, you know "what the hell is a ponzi scheme" It runs something like this.
Kids at school, say 2nd grade at lunch pool all thier snacks and begin a bartering system and it works. You get a fruit roll up for your rice crispy treats and everyone gets the snack they want. Enter the kid who dosent have a good snack to trade but he comes up with something far better.
"at the end of the year my mother will be making a huge cake, its the best cake ever chocolate you name it"
The other kids decide that its worth giving over the snacks now for a slice of that cake later on. The kid offering the cake does it all, keeps a record of what snacks was given to him and how many slices of the cake that person gets.
mid way through the year a couple of the smarter kids begin to realize that they have given over say 20 ring dings and the pay off would be a cake the size of a large bus, with all the trimmings. They confront the kid and he confesses there was never any cake, his mother cant cook and he appologizes.
The point? The kids that gave thier snacks will never get them back, they've been eaten.

Obama signs and endorses 800 billion in spending, then the next day proclaims he will cut the deficit in half in 4 years. People are eating it up too, I mean I get being hopeful postive and wanting to get out of this malaise we are in but come on....
Theres an awful lot of intelligent people out there who are buying into this "have your cake and eat it too" mentality. I want to so much like this guy and part of me does, but im listening to him to what he says and he is saying things that dont make sense.
In order to achieve a deficit reduction he would have to cut spending tremendously and he has no control over that the congress does. Im still willing to give him time to get things right this mess isnt his fault but the concepts above, stimulus spending/cutting the defict in half in 4 years is all on him.....

Nothing much, little rant though
So we went to NH for a long weekend and it was great! Good food, rest relax you know the whole deal much needed. So Im there at the hotel bar having a drink and I end up in a convo with 2 other guys older then I am about the current economic situation, Obama and the environment.
Essentially there postion was "this guys plan spends to much but might we have to give him a chance"
Now thats a simplistic overview of thier position but you can fathom the rational they used for it which isnt wrong in a lot of ways. My position was as a libertarian that Obama's spending while a gross over use of fantasy money did not target the proper avenues. He is spending far to much on health, and medicaid support to states something you havent seen a lot of on the tube. Yeah there is infrastructure spending but, that infrastructure spending is for "shovel ready" projects.
Most of which were designed and started without a "green" footprint. As i age and i have come to realize that the most important thing we can do as a collective species is be good stewarts of the planet. Now he has some green initiatves, its better then nothing but with an 800 billion dollar plan it was my hope that the fantasy money he would be printing would be used to give an incentive to green products.
How about a 5000K credit for each family who does one of the following:
1. Buys a hybrid vehcile
2. Installs solar panels on thier house
3. Buys 50% of thier grocieries from a local farmers market
4. Verifiably redces their carbon foot print by 25%
Also a 250,000 tax credit for business over 10 million in annual revenues who
1. Change thier corporate fleet of vehicles to hybrid
2. Refirbush plants and buildings to maximize "green" potential
3. Supports local charities who promote environmental projects.
My point was that you can give incentives so that private industry makes green decisions. These will help us all long term and the 2 guys they agreed !

its funny how things in life kind of play out when you arent looking for them. Its cliche I know but things really do happen unexpectadly. Over the last month or so I had been talking to a woman in a similar situation as mine, married kids looking for someone to play with on the side. I have also been talking to the ms about this as well and weve come to the conclusion that should something ever happen, for either of us it wouldnt be the end of the world.
Revelation I. My wife might be looking for her own, outlet as well.
So this woman and decided to meet for coffee, she was cute a little chunky but Im really not shallow, I dont need a super model I am just as happy to talk to someone and have a mental mutual exchange. So we get the standard stuff out of the way, you know, STD's etc. Neither of us have been with anyone but our spouses for years so no STD issue.
We wrapped that and she wanted to meet again, we did same place and we both agreed on what it is we were looking for in someone else. The whole D/s scenario perhaps once a month or a few times a year? Just to break the manatony and get off. Now the conversation progressed naturally to sex, it was an explicit adult conversation of likes, wants dislikes etc. I had already determined we were compatable and already had decided on what the first phycial "scene" would be from my point of view. Nothing hardcore but a roll establishment.
Then of course she came in with the salvo "I dont know if I love my husband any more but Im sure I could fall in love with you" it was surreal but I could see two imaginary gnomes in the corner jumping up and down with red flags. I stumbled a bit and reminded her this was a casual liason, 2 adults enjoying one another from time to time to keep the sanity type of thing. She became upset and went on about her husband.... You get the picture.
Needless to say here and i chat via email still but I cut off any more physical or face contact. Dont get me wrong she isnt psycho its just her priorities werent in order she wasnt coming from a place of security. Yep I could have bedded her probably had a real good time but emotionally that isnt my scene. She was just ready to be plucked and well I wouldnt do that.
Anyway this may come off to some of my readers as a eye open revelation as to what I am capable of or will do. In the past Ive posted a lot of fluff here, some good stories but this was real. This is whats happened to your boy from time to time. Would I have gone for it if the situation was stable? Probably yes, but if you cant be honest in your journal and be somewhat flawed, where can you be?

Yay for Yoga
Bikrham Yoga has got to be the best thing I have done in a long long time. Getting back into it, yoga for 1.5 hours in a 110 degree room. Talk about a work out, its kicking my ass in a good way.

This year will be my last year in my current job. I am now officially in full job search mode. Crap time to do it but slow and steady wins the race. Ive been here for 7 years now and well just need a change. Im almost 40 and its time to start making some real money and banking it as up until now ive managed to piss it away on toys.

1, 2, 3 strikes your out
Today was the first of 3 storms to hit my area (this does not include the ice storm from last week which kept us in the dark for 3 days) Today, 3 inches and sleet and rain, friday 6+ inches, sunday projected to be about the same. Here in New England we have had a lot of moisture this year. This summer it seemed like it rained every other day and now storm after storm....
Im ready to move, really Im tiring of winter. As much as I love New England id be just as happy somewhere much much warmer.

yay for ice storms and a brief conversation at 3:45am
Major ice storm in my world last night, really had it all broken trees all over the place, lightening pounding wind and rain/ice, power outage you name it. I use my cell phone as a back up alarm clock, I usually wake up on my own but you never know.
3:40 AM ( I had been awake for about 30 minites) normal wake up time for me on a training day. I make some food eat and am out the door by 4:15 at the gym by 5:00AM.
I rise and christine mutters:
"The power is out"
"I know hun" I whispher back
"Did you hear all the trees?" She asks
"Yeah, but none hit the house, I think" I respond wearily
"Are you going to work and train today?" She says
"Well, yeah if I can get out of the driveway its either a sheet of ice or its melting"
Now my alarm goes off on my cell phone
"Why is that so loud?" her voices rises a bit
"So it wakes me up" was my reply
"Can you turn that down, that would wake me up" She exclaims
"You are already awake, go to sleep and stop fooling around" My voice rising slightly
"drive safe Peter" then she rolls over.
No power, no hot food so I pack my lunch and get outside. Holly shit what a scene there are fucking branches down all over the guy next to me has a major issue with his pine tree it looked to me like it split.... but it was dark. Now the roads are fine the ice didnt stick so traction isnt a problem. I make it out of my street and on to the backroad to the highway. Literally 10-15 major branches all over the road.
Im not ancient but I have seen enough major storms to know that this one brought down a lot of trees. Got to the highway and was smooth sailing. Trained and am now at my desk, get an email from the weather center at channel 5 that my kids school is cancelled. So I call home, no answering machine because of no power. She didnt pick up, maybe she turned the ringer off. I'll try again later.
If this is how the winter is going to kick off then were in for a shit season.
