New femslash RP game!

After Dark header

What would happen if all the women in Law and Order were gay? After a long day in the precinct or courtroom, they meet up for a drink at a bar and conversation starts to flow freely...a few more drinks and who knows what might happen? l_o_afterdark is the place to find out!

This is our first time advertising, so there are still plenty of characters available. Check out our userinfo to see the full list. At this early stage we're not opening up for original characters (that will probably change in the future) but if you want to play a character from another fandom then feel free to put in an application and just explain how that character fits in with the L&O ladies.

This is NOT a case based RP. It's all about the characters, and the slashy fun times we can have with them. We don't want any character hating. If you hate [insert character here] so passionately and the idea of her having sexyfuntimes with [insert other character here] makes you want to break things or vomit or other such extreme reactions, then leave that outside the game. If you don't think you can, then this won't be the game for you.

We want a fun, friendly place for people to get their femslash RP on! Come on over to l_o_afterdark and check us out!

Home Team: The 2009 Match Nominations

Recently, dragon_fall showed me a few episodes of the television series "Supernatural." It was good, and I really liked the "early X-Files" feel of it. However, I wasn't really able to get into it and it took me a few days to figure out why. Finally, I realized that in the episodes I saw, all the women on this series were either evil, or weak and in need of being saved by a man.

I just can't get into that. For me, a strong, real female character is essential to a good plot, whether it's a movie, a T.V. series, novel, short story, comic, etc. I tend to look up to and admire such female characters and without one, I simply can't connect with the story line.

Yesterday, xenokattz linked to a post by cidercupcakes called the Home Team: The 2009 Match where people nominate their favourite female characters. There are some amazing female characters on the list and there has been so much response, that cidercupcakes had to make a second post. I perused through both Part I and Part II and found lots of female character that I just had to show my support for. Peruse through the list yourself and show your support for your favourite female character!

But even as great as the list already was, there were still a few essential female characters that were mysteriously absent. So of course, I just had to nominate the following:

Ana Lucia Cortez (LOST)
The Unicorn/Lady Amalthea (The Last Unicorn)
Detective Olivia Benson (Law & Order: Special Victim's Unit)
ADA Alexandra Cabot (Law & Order: Special Victim's Unit)
Morgaine of the Fairies (The Mists of Avalon)
Evelyn "Evie" Carnahan-O'Connor (The Mummy Movies)
Scarlett O'Hara (Gone With the Wind)
Joan Girardi (Joan of Arcadia)
Elaine Benes (Seinfeld)

Casey/Olivia - episode based series

Title: Collide
Working Title: How Casey and Olivia became Casey and Olivia
Sub title: Season five Episode 5 “Serendipity”
Series Summary: A series based on what could have happened before, during, or afer an episode. My version of how Casey and Olivia could have realistically come to be.
Episode summary: The unit's got their hands full on a case when they get a new ADA...
Length: Six pages in Word, basic font, size 12
Rating: Just to be safe, over all this series should be considered R, but this particular episode will be TV 14. Because even though they don't swear in the show, we all do in real life.
Disclamier: I do not own the show Law and Order, SVU or the charcters or the scripted episodes, I only have fun with them ;)
Thanks: I would like to thank whatever DVD stuido produced season five b/c if it wasn't for them, closed captioning and the pause button I would never be able to get parts from the episodes right.
I also wanna thank whatever fan fic author (I'm so sorry I have no idea her name) who wrote several Olivia/Alex episode sentric fics that gave me this idea.
Notes: I don't know if you ever notice but based on the dates in the episodes, there's several cases going on at once, I do not have the time to work that in so for this story let's just assume the episodes come right after another, time-wise.
Second note: I like to play with this in my other Casey/Olivia fictions but in this one Olivia and Alex NEVER had a sexual/romantic relationships.
This episode only note: I have only written what happened in this episode, mostly because this is the first episode Casey was in and there were so many important subtext stuff I felt for this first episode I would stick to what actually happened.
Last note: I've read this through, and did my best on typos and grammer but I'm not a very good editer so if you feel the need to let me know about it, go right ahead, I won't take offence. As always, I love feed back, I live for it, please let me know how I'm doing!!! Thanks!

I'm having so much fun writing this and as I do I find myself diving deeper into the charcters of Casey and Olivia then the show ever did, only hinted at. It's a love story and I am a sap for love stories.

Excerpt:

It’s dark. Really dark. She can’t see anything, it’s all fuzzy. And all she can hear is her heart thumping loudly, too loudly, underneath her ribs. Her eyes are all sticky too, like they are covered in dried tears. In fact, her whole body feels icky, and it hurts. She puts her hands on the ground and realizes it’s not a floor she recalls, much less her bed. Suddenly she recognizes that distinct type of alley smell in her nose: all gasoline and dirt and mold and urine. Something else too, something horrid that she’s never smelled before but which is still strangely familiar. Then she remembers.

She leaps off the ground, scrambling to grab her jacket and throw it over her shoulders before tearing out of there. Then she runs. She runs and she runs and she runs. She runs until the night turns into a faded dawn. She runs until she has no idea where she is or where she came from. She runs until the images stop flashing over her eyes and she is not worried about her voice working against her will. She runs until she can pretend that nothing ever happened. She runs until she collapses onto the pavement in an exhausted mangled heap, not even understanding that she’s run right into someone.

“Whoa there!” Olivia calls, stumbling backward to prevent a fall and raising her right hand so her tea doesn’t slosh over into anyone’s face. She goes to gather the girl to her feet when she gets that familiar tug in her heart. The girl is struggling to breathe and when Olivia gets a glimpse of a bruised and bloody face she immediately drops her cup without thought. “Are you okay? What happened?” Olivia takes in her ripped shorts and misbuttoned jacket and sighs. She can smell a rape victim like it’s a sixth sense of hers. “Did somebody hurt you?” she asks gently, and watches beneath her feet as the girl crumbles into herself from the top down like a building being demolished, one floor upon the other. Olivia supports the girl’s weight with both arms and tells her, “I’m a police officer. You’re safe now, ok? My name’s Olivia. I’m going to take you to the hospital.” and feels the girl go limp against her body. Raising her to her feet by her armpits, Olivia then puts the girl softly into her car.

Finally, freaking finally it's done.

Title: Over a year (a title kinda still a work in progress)
Paring: Casey/Olivia
Rating: To be considered R
Spoilers: The end of season nine
Disclaimer: As much as I wish Dick Wolf would give his lesbians fan SOME kind of joy I do not own Casey and Olivia, in reality we only dream of a perfect world where they expression much hot love for one another:)
Length: 3600 words
Notes: Yeah I know it's been over two weeks. I have had the worst writer's block. Three weeks ago when I started this story I had everything planned out perfectly but in the three crazy weeks I've lost the point I had when I started to write this. Somehow I've managed to squeak out an end. I know in the beginning I was planning a much "happier" ending but I just am struggling too much. If my inspiration comes back to me I'll rewrite the ending but until or for now, I hope this will do.
Feedback: I love feedback just please be kind I know it began to suck as my enthusiasm wore off and I forced out and ending.
