Martha Cup 16 August 2026
The Ladies section held a successful Gala Day with teams of 3 playing for the Martha Cup.
The weather was excellent with bowls to match.
The winners on the day were Alison Boyd, Rose Rogers and Caroline Harris - Congratulations!!
Para Assessment Day Sunday 7th June 2026
For the second year, Nuneaton Bowls Club were selected to host the Para Bowls Assessment Day.
A big thank you to all the volunteers, preparing the green, assisting players and officials, car parking, catering and behind the scenes. It looked as though all the players enjoyed the green with lots of positive comments. Well played everyone.

Potters Champion of Champions 2026
Well done to Alan George and Ian Harrison from Nuneaton together with Gill and Norman Ardin from Tamworth who won the Potters Champion of Champions, beating Team Spain by a single shot. The match was played in a good spirit on the morning of the 2026 World Bowls Final, playing on the famous Blue Carpet. Well played everyone.
Ladies Xmas Lunch 2025
The Nuneaton Lady Bowlers held their Xmas lunch at The Redgate. Lots of smiling faces, so it looks like everyone had a good time.

Well done to all of the ladies who played this season. Promotion to Division 1 has been achieved. Thanks to Pat Hallam and Andrea Balac for managing the team this season.
Ladies 40's Style Luncheon 7th November 2025
On Friday 7th November 63 ladies sat down to a wartime style luncheon. The lounge at the
Nuneaton Bowling Club was hung with Union Jacks and the tables were decorated with more
f
lags and poppies.
Started with a one minute silence in memory of the fallen and followed by a great round of
applause. Many ladies came dressed in the 40’ s fashion (socks- no stockings!) and all the team
who put this together wore matching dungarees and headscarves. A central table was covered in
memorabilia from the era including a gas mask and old photographs. The memorabilia had kindly
been loaned by the Heritage centre.
A lunch of pie, mash and mushy peas was served, followed by deserts of jelly and fruit cocktail,
bread pudding or cake. Carnation milk too of course..Tea and Camp coffee was available and the
Club bar did a roaring trade too. (A few pies were accidentally overcooked on the top but that
even seemed to add to the amusement of the day! )
Georgie M provided the entertainment after lunch singing many of the timeless Vera Lynn songs.
Several Large Knitted poppies covered old bowling woods and these were sold off at the end for
a good price.
A huge thank you to the many who gave up so much time: Preparing and mashing the spuds,
Cooking, Decorating, Knitting, Washing up the tons of dirty pots and plates, Serving the food and
at the bar, Setting up and Clearing away, Supporting the raffle.
The final profit was £723 and that money will be used at the Club to benefit both bowling and
social members. The Ladies Bowling Section thanks everyone for their continuing support for
these events.

New Outdoor Chairs
36 New Outdoor Chairs bought out of the funds raised by the Ladies at the recent Mad Hatters afternoon tea. They really smarten the outdoor seating area.
Nuneaton Bowling Club
Last winter the Ladies Section raised substantial funds which purchased 12 new Blue Mats and also paid for the new replacement numbers on the Scoreboards. The Ladies section fund raising additionally paid for the paint for the fence panels (carried out predominately by the men) and a couple of hundred pounds for plants around the green
