The Town of North Hempstead’s Department of Solid Waste Management develops and promotes programs that reduce waste at home and in businesses, and we rely on residents’ participation to maximize reuse and recycling and minimize what goes to landfills and incinerators. The Department oversees five Town-administered garbage districts and coordinates key programs and events that help residents recycle smarter and keep our communities clean.
