Me!

(no subject)

I don't think I've ever been so excited in all my life.

I've only seen Northern State once, and it was just after the release of Dying In Stereo. They haven't returned to Seattle since. I keep in contact with Sprout a lot. After not hearing anything from her I decided to send her an email in which she finally responded to a couple weeks ago and informed me that not only are they going on tour with Tegan and Sara (one of my favorite bands), but they will be doing a headlining show in Seattle as well! And to make matters even BETTER...this happens just days after my birthday. The last day of the tour is October 19th in Portland (which I will be at). This is the day after my birthday. The NSP headlining date in Seattle is on October 20th. I am so excited I can't even explain it.

Just thought I'd share :)

Article about Northern State

Hi all, I'm the editor for a pro-feminist journal, Adonis Mirror, and we recently published an article that might be of interest to you.

"The Mythology of Capitalism in Criticism," explores how criticism as a genre is used to sneak antifeminist polemics past editors—and lawyers—that would otherwise meet criticism of their own.

After all, how many book or CD reviews themselves get publicly reviewed?

The idea for the article came to me when someone on a web-forum was inviting people to read Pitchfork Media's review of Northern State.

hey. i just joined this community and just wanted to say it's so AWESOME to actually be able to meet people who love northern state, too.

so. Here's my intro- My name's Bridget. 19. Sophomore at Indiana University. and quite frankly? I'm probably 1 of 10 people who like Northern State at this University. Most people I know make fun of them and just discard them as 'Ridiculous Girls who think they can Rap'. but to me? Northern State is SO much more then just that. They're simply amazing and anyone that denies that is in DENIAL, themselves.

So three cheers for liking Northern State and am ecstatic to be a part of this community.

Quick question- anyone going to see them in Columbus? I believe I'm going, but just wanted to see if anyone else is. Word.

Take it easy.

"Girl for All Seasons" Video!

So, I FINALLY found the video for Northern State's single, "Girl for All Seasons"! Go to www.teenpeople.com and use access code "HOLLYWOOD" to get in to the site, then click on "Tuned In", their piece on Nothern State. Scroll to the bottom of the article where it says, "Ready to help widen the scope of Northern State's fan base? Check out the video of their first single, "Girl for All Seasons," shown exclusively at TEENPEOPLE.COM. " and click on the part where it says to check out the video of their first single.

My brother, his girlfriend and I are in the video, too. You can't really see us, but we're definitely there in the background in bits and pieces!
