Template:Cite Twitter/doc

Usage

This template is a modified version of Template:Cite web that is designed specifically for Tweets. It automatically formats and sorts the data and all parameters are optional except for url. <ref> tags must be added to make it appear as a reference.

Parameters

• quote (optional) — A quote from the Tweet, if it is concise and relevant to the citation.
• author (optional) – The username (not the display name) of the account that made the post (e.g. NintendoAmerica, not Nintendo of America). An @ will automatically be added.
• date (optional) – The date the Tweet was made. Should be fully written out in the Month Day, Year format.
• url (required) – The direct URL to the Tweet in question. An archived URL from the Wayback Machine or other web archivers may be used if the original page is inaccessible.
• archive-date – The date the page was archived. Only use if using an archived link.
• retrieved – The date the page was used on Nookipedia as a source (should be the current date unless retroactively adding the parameter).
• language – The language of the page in question. Only to be used for non-English sources.
