Random // Purple

Today I claimed what I see to be a small victory. My girlfriend uses an iBook and all I ever hear is how she wishes it could do this, or wishes it could do that. She's VERY computer illiterate and her only other use besides banking is itunes. She uses a PC at work, and wants everything to be like that, but refused to get rid of her mac. Today, I convinced her to buy a proper laptop *claps*

In other news, I ordered my Creative Zen multimedia player today, should be here around Wednesday.

But all my laptop investigating made me want a new laptop, which I could justify because mine is almost 5 years old. I think I'll just upgrade the insides and paint it purple *nods*

Sorry for the randomness. It's good for the soul, trust me.

I need a new computer...

Hi Everyone!

I'm in the market for a new laptop and have been leaning towards getting a Sony Vaio Notebook. Can anyone suggest a model for me? Or if you don't have a Sony, tell me what you like about your laptop.

I'm about to go to med school and need a computer that I can save all of my e-books on and also sync really well with a PDA.

Any suggestions are appreciated.

Thanks!

Oh how I love this comm. I'm an anti-apple girl and always have been. People think i'm insane for refusing to even own an ipod, but I think they are insane for going gaga over them. Seriously, over priced peices of junk, why bother?

I have my old bricky Creative Zen Touch that's lasted a good 4 years, including being dropped several times onto kitchen tiles and floorboards and still doesn't have a scratch. I'm only upgrading her to the latest Creative Zen because I'm going overseas and can't resist buying things I don't really need.

My PC is a cute little Shuttle SN26P, and laptop a sturdy ASUS with groovy black wrist marks from my tattoo. Both run Mandriva linux coz I'm also fairly anti-windoze. That, however, does not extend to my Palm Treo, that runs Windows Mobile. But hey, it's not an iphone. I played with one of those in the shop briefly, and it annoyed me. After a minute I couldn't see the screen for the finger marks. How practical.

So, this really had no point.

Creative Zen Sleek Photo

I've had my Creative Zen Sleek for about two years. I recently bought a new laptop with Windows Vista, and I can't download the software b/c it's not compatible. Anywhere I can get an updated version of the Creative Organizer software?

Also, I'm trying to find some accessories for my Zen Sleek like a car charger. I found one for the Vision M, and the dealer said it is compatible with the Zen Sleek. Does anyone know if that is true, and if it is true for all Vision M accessories.

Thanks!

Well, Mac has lead us into the stone age again...

*snicerfits herself to death* Mactards have done it again, this is so frigging hilarious.

As everyone is aware, I'm sure by advertisements and the net, the Macbook Air has hit the market. Although this one has me in stiches, literally. This is such a friggin hilarious laptop I have to drop what I'm doing just to get a good laugh at it.

For those that may not have seen or heard of it, here's a YouTube video to let you know what I'm talking about:

However some reasons why this sucks:

1) 1 USB port, no firewire, no ethernet ports

2) No removable battery...so much for a spare.

3) 2 GB of sauntered memory, yeps thats right folks, you can't change around the RAM without voiding the warranty on the damned thing, same thing with the battery

4)Slow 4200 hard drive rpm, no speedy 7200 hard drive for anyone wanting something current and modern

5) No Optical drive...no DVDs or CDs for you!

6) Slow processor...1.6 C2D, slowest of the Core 2 Duo processors available

7) Mono Speakers...no stereo sound

8) 80 GB hard drive, not going to get much storage out of this puppy.

9) Impractical design....there are reasons laptops are manufactured with sturdier frames, so that they aren't fragile or so thin they can be dropped or broken.

10) Price...anyone wanna pay $1800-$3000 for a laptop with all these issues?

I don't think so, I was thoroughly amused reading the specs on this machine, but yet again, it seems Apple and its Mactards are once again moving us in the direction of the stone age. Cute design? Possibly, personally if I'm going to have a laptop, I want one I can keep tabs on, and my faithfull Toshiba is never out of sight or mind, or blown away by a tuft of wind either.

To end this on, here's a nice parody to give everyone a chuckle:

Thanks for hearing my Mac bitch. Hope this gave you a few laughs...

Steve Jobs, Major A-hole.

Because a refund isn't really a refund unless you spend it on...dun dun dunnn...MORE Crapple products!

IPhone buyers will be eligible for a $100 credit good toward the purchase of any product at any Apple store or at Apple's online store.

Full article here.

Personally, I don't think anyone stupid enough to've pissed away so much money on an iPhone to begin with should get anything back. Screw them! They made a choice to plock down the cash. Boo-dee-hoo, too bad!
