expressing nonhumanity is (or at the very least can be) a very alternative, counter culture move. normative society limits people's self-expression, and one of the many things it prohibits is being animalistic. normative society puts humans on a pedestal and does everything it can to separate them from nature. being alterhuman is fundamentally going against that system by blurring those very lines it constructed
now, for involuntary alterhumans, expressing oneself is often a need, not a want
but there really are just mfs out there who choose to be unapologetically feral, not because they feel it in their core, necessarily, but because they want to
they actively aid the broader alterhuman community in propagating nonhuman self-expression and help us challenge the system, not because it's their only option, but because they saw it as an option and thought it was interesting enough to dedicate themselves to it
and that's so fucking punk!!!
we should be more thankful for our otherlinker, otherpaw, furry, and all our siblings in adjacent communities for popularizing our way of living, not because they needed to, but because they wanted to

Curious on what you might have in store for Sirens. Im not able to swim alot due to alot of just location things and its effecting me alot. Both the bird and fish tailed sirens as im a hybrid of them both.
I completely understand the swimming aspect, as a coastal wolf myself it makes me sad when I can’t swim either.
For appearance:
To get it across to humans that you’re a siren, wearing more ocean and bird centered things (jewelry, clothes, hats, keychains etc) can really get the point across!
Dying your feathers and coloring your scales your preferred color is also a great way to feel more like yourself!
For behavior:
Perching on high places (safely) can definitely make you feel more connected to your bird siren half! preening your feathers and grooming yourself regularly may also help you feel more sleek and elegant.
Rubbing against rocks or something hard to scratch an itch or to get something off of you, fish do this all the time since they lack the dexterity for preening!
Stretching out your fins and wings may also be a nice way to show off your siren traits to others!
Since you said you don’t live near water/somewhere you can swim, there are other ways you can satisfy your need to be near water or exercise in water.
Doing dry-land flutter kicks can mimic the feeling of swimming, especially if you do them intensively. Superman holds are also good ones, as well as resistance band pulls!
If you really do want to be in water though, run a bath or a shower! Take some time to yourself and soak. You deserve a little you time.
For vocals:
Humming or singing in secluded areas may lure people in! Just be careful though not to get into trouble with private property or weirdos!
Learning bird calls can be difficult but in the end they can be very rewarding! There are a few you can do without your hands too, it just depends on what subspecies of bird your hybridity is mixed with.
For prey drive:
Eating marshmallow mice, types of meat, jerky, sea food, and even fish/poultry can help with prey drive!
Hunting can be a little tricky, luring animals or critters doesn’t always work. If your area allows you to set traps for hunting you could do that though! Playing animal sounds of mimicking them to lead the critter into your trap may satisfy your luring urges!
If this doesn’t work:
You don’t need to be near an ocean to be a siren, you have been and will always be yourself and only you can decide to change that!
