Writer's Block: Single pride day

Given that we're less than a week out from Valentines, how do you feel about the approaching holiday? Will you participate or abstain? If you're not in a relationship, how will you celebrate your single status?

I hate Valentines Day. It might be romantic in a purely basic form, being a celebration of true love and what not, but it's waaaaaaaay too commercial and cheesy for me. I dunno, maybe I'm just bitter because I'm single.

Writer's Block: Adult Onset

Putting legal definitions aside, at what age do you think someone can really be considered an adult?
I don't really think age has anything to do with it. I think it's the sum of your experiances that decides when you truely are an adult. I'll admit, you're not going to be considered an adult when you're 8, but if you're 17 and you've gone through huge events and changes, maybe your parents were killed, or you were raped, or some other monumental and life changing event, you really can't be considered a child after that. Also, what you take away from those experiances also marks you as an adult, I know a few 40 year olds that I still would not consider adults.

I guess what I'm trying to say is it's the events that happen in your life and how you deal with them and learn from them that dictate when you're a true "adult" or just legally one... Age vs Maturity I guess?

Did I get my point across or am I just rambeling again?

Writer's Block: Left Behind

What do you want done with your body after you die?
I want to be burried... or maybe frozen. If anyone tries to cremate me I will haunt them for the rest of their lives. Just the thought of being burnt makes me ill. I might not be in it anymore, but it's still my body and I won't stand for anyone defacing it. I won't be an organ donor either, it's really nice when other people do it, but it's just not for me.

Writer's Block: You Wouldn't Understand

Almost everyone coins or uses expressions that make sense to only a few people. What word or phrase do you use most often that you have to explain the meaning of to others?
I'm from Newfoundland, so most of our expressions don't make sense to anyone who isn't from here, the most common being;

Oh me nerves! - Meaning someone's done something or something's happened to you that's got you really stressed or annoyed.

Yes b'y! - Kind of one of those thing's that gets lost in translation "b'y" would be the person you're talking to and it's usually used when you're impressed or being sarcastic.

ex; "I got a 95 on my French exam!"  "Yes b'y!"

How's she cuttin'? - Just "How's it going"

Best kind - Another one of those things that gets lost. It's kind of just when you're happy about something... or being sarcastic.

If I go up to the main land (A.k.a  the rest of Canada) or even Labrador I always get asked to repeat things like 10 times.
