NBN at OBC

Tonite New Blind Nationals will be making a special appearance at Onopa Brewing Company. Joining us will be The M's who have shared the stage with the likes of Electric Six, French Kicks, Stephen Malkmus, Wilco, and Yeah Yeah Yeahs. Also appearing are Chalet Chalet who are an excellent rock band from Chicago playing their farewell show here in Milwaukee. With us. We are certainly honored to share the stage with such great bands.

Come and get down.

thank you!

Thanks to everyone who came out to the Rummage-O-Rama. We raised over $300. Xtra thanks to Boolean Condition, Bob Gun, and the other band (sorry I didn't catch the name!) Thanks to everyone who donated clothes/food/stuff/and time! We are going to take the money and buy one new fur coat for all of us to wear all summer long!

My Interview with The Fond Du Lac Reporter

Note: This interview will be printed in The Fond Du Lac Reporter's "Backstage" section in their June 10th issue. I tried to maintain a steady amount of lameness throughout. It's what I do best...

The Reporter: Name:
Michael: New Blind Nationals

TR: Story behind the name:
M: Josef, our bass player, won it in an air hockey game against Tony, our guitarist. It remains, to this day, one of the least disputed wins in air hockey history. No one really knows what it means though.

TR: Kind of music:
M: This is always a difficult one to answer… If you want to go by genres, I think it’s safe to say that we’re somewhat a product of early eighties no wave, and early nineties indie rock.

TR: Members and what do they play?
M: Kyle Altadonna… vocals, guitar | Josef Blind… bass, keyboards | Joe Kirschling… drums | Michael Marchant… guitar, bass, keyboards | Tony Weber… guitar, vocals

TR: How would you describe your band to a person with no ears?
M: We’re not hurting our instruments… we’re making the song better!

TR: What do you play when you’re on break?
M: Phone tag. Scrabble.

TR: Day jobs? What are they?
M: Kyle… sells books/student | Josef… A/V guy | Joe… phone company hotshot | Michael… coffee slinger/freelance graphic designer | Tony… cabinet maker/student

TR: CDs out? How can they be purchased?
M: Three of them: Unconscious and Standing EP, Born on a Beach Blanket EP, and our newly released full-length album Bury the Pattern. All three can be found around Milwaukee at Atomic Records, Rushmore Records, and The Exclusive Company. They can also be purchased online through www.nokarma.com. Or you can get them directly from us at a live show. We like it when you buy them in person the best!

TR: What’s your personal philosophy towards music?
M: It heals wounds 88% faster than the next leading topical solution.

TR: Any rituals before performances?
M: We all switch pants. It sounds funny, but it helps us play better.

TR: What whets your whistle?
M: Cheap beer or anything the bartender gives us for free.

TR: If your band could jam with anybody, who would it be?
M: I think the whole band would agree on Attorney General John Ashcroft or any member of Sonic Youth.

TR: Contact info?
M: Web site… www.newblindnationals.com
Email… nbn@newblindnation.com
Postal…

TR: Where can we see you next?
M: Wednesday, May 26th at Barely Legal in Milwaukee, WI. With 302 Acid (Dischord Records), Fallout Countdown, The Box Social, and Uncle Bob Drives a Combine.
