[Thread] Whistle while you work [Sakura, Hana, Kakashi]

Sakura was annoyed. For several reasons, one of them being that she was now on her hands and knees reaching into the back of a cabinet and growling under her breath about time wasted. She'd flung open all the cabinets and false panels and loose floorboards, leaving a veritable minefield behind as she scoured for any place that she and Shizune could've missed.

Needless to say, the thought didn't make her happy. When she and Shizune had finished cleaning the place out, she'd been fairly confident she'd found every possible place anyone could ever put anything in the office. Being told she'd missed a spot made her want to punch things. Hard.

But that was the council for you.

Lunchtime Reunions [Naruto, Sakura, Kakashi]

It was a nice day out, not that hot, not that cold, and not pouring down rain, which was always a good thing. Naruto's cleaning duties, as he'd been calling them lately, were done for the day so he had left a note at the hospital for Sakura, searched for Kakashi for a few hours before finally giving up, and then trudged downtown, chatting with a few friends still working on rebuilding some of the bigger, more needed food places and shops in the downtown area. They weren't really high priority, but it was always nice to provide a place for both ninja and civilians to come and relax in these rather stressful times, and Naruto had made sure that Ichiraku's was one of the first to be restored to all its former glory.Collapse )

[thread] Finding one another [Kakashi, Kurenai, Sakura, Asuma]

[[OOC: Takes place after this thread which is set three days after the invasion.]]

Kakashi watched the refugees with a sort of sad and wistful detachment. Civilians and genin mostly, all working so hard just to take care of one another, offering words of comfort, shoulders of support, and small services of kindness. So unafraid of getting close to others. It made him want to scold and admire them at the same time, sometimes one more than the other, but today it remained a balance of both. Just barely.

He turned away from the sight around him to concentrate more on the two women lying on a futon beside the crate he sat upon. He'd heard he could find both of them here, he just hadn't known he'd actually find them together. Kurenai, hooked to an IV drip and looking much paler than usual, the bruises standing out more than they normally would have without any color or makeup to hide them; and Sakura, stressed and worn out as was evidence simply by how still she was laying and how deeply she slept. But both were safe, both were safe. Thank goodness for something.Collapse )

Long time no see [Sasuke, Kakashi]

Sasuke gave the building containing the archives a final search-through before nodding once to himself. A pair of his own hand-picked and loyal shinobi had taken the multitudes of records and put them into sealing-scrolls, for Sasuke to unseal and peruse at his leisure. Pity he couldn't take the time to see to the Nakano shrine, but if they hadn't found anything of worth by now, the chances of them finding the hidden area with the scroll mentioning the mangekyou Sharingan was slim to none. For all anyone else knew it was just simply a shrine. Virtually unimportant, especially with the clan dead. If anything was terribly interesting, it would have been with the archives, correct?

That's what he hoped, anyway. Though not that it matter much anymore if they knew about it. The best would be to behave as if he didn't care.Collapse )
