This period was characterised by deepening political instability, escalating corruption, repeated military interventions in governance through coups d’état, and episodes of mass violence, all of which posed grave threats to peaceful coexistence and national cohesion.

Call for Special Issue Proposals in Journal of Disappearance Studies

Deadline for proposals: 15 December 2025

The Editors welcome proposals for Special Issues, which are comprised of 6-8 original research articles that coordinate on a shared theme.

The Editors will make every effort to communicate a decision within four weeks of this deadline. 

Proposals for Special Issues are considered once or, on occasion, twice a year.
