nerdnoise: generations, a comparison of nerdnoise members past and present to characters from star trek.
nerdnoise is a group of students at uc berkeley who are linked by common interests in indie music*, pop culture, nerdy things, and pretending like we're still five years old.
we have weekly meetings where we discuss upcoming events and shows that people are interested in, have a show-and-tell or band-of-the-week presentation, eat cookies, and generally just have a good time.
we also like to do things together on weekends. recent events include:
-karaoke
-filesharing
-trick-or-treating on halloween
-the 50th anniversary of the enchantment under the sea dance from back to the future
-festivus party
-visiting an exhibit about dinosaurs at the lawrence hall of science
-foursquare tournament on sproul plaza
-end-of-the-year picnic
*though indie music is the most common thread, each person has their own diverse set of music tastes, so if you're also into bollywood music or ska or jpop or just about anything else, you can probably find someone to argue with about the merits of the latest hot album on the scene or to go to a show with. unless you like creed. we have a strict anti-creed policy. ok, no we don't, but we'll probably give you a hard time, i'm just sayin'.
