MAJOR APOLLO JUSTICE: ACE ATTORNEY SPOILERS

So, I didn’t like AJ:AA as much as I thought I would.

Keep in mind that my prior experience with Ace Attorney (AA) before this was the Phoenix Wright Ace Attorney Trilogy (1-3) and The Great Ace Attorney (TGAA) Chronicles, so I had very high standards. I’m a PC guy, so I just play the games when they get ported over. Also, I haven’t seen much discourse about this game, so I have no idea if my thoughts are a brand new hot take or the same stuff people have been saying for years. That said, here are my very long and drawn-out thoughts about Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney.

Apollo Justice is (not) doing fine.

I keep forgetting to post this. I made this when ch5 had just come out (this breached containment and i had to make a... minor change.)

a mirror. your friends smile warmly behind you.

That Young Bucks vs Ospreay/Moxley match was so weird and uncomfortable and the exact kind of match that made me fall in love with pro wrestling. The kind of match that has me squirming in my seat, genuinely concerned for the wrestlers involved. I don’t think a match has put me on the edge of my seat with my hands over my mouth like that since Hangman vs MJF. And this wasn’t even a deathmatch.

It’s just so weird and innovative. Like how often do you see a wrestler working a concussion?? How often do you see BOTH teams getting into arguments with their partners over how far they’re willing to go? How much they’re willing to sacrifice? It just felt so painfully human, watching Ospreay stop the match for the ref to look at Nick and seeing Matt lay on top of his barely conscious brother while begging Ospreay for mercy. This is storytelling. I get why not everyone liked it but I genuinely loved it.

My only complaint is that Ospreay/Mox should have won. Still, seeing the Bucks walk away as winners (on top of what happened at the end of the show) might be what pushes Ospreay over the edge. This show fully sold me on the Ospreay/Death Riders dynamic and I can’t wait to see what AEW does with it moving forward.

That All In main event is gonna be an all-timer to rival Omega/Ospreay I and II. And one of them is getting the Danielson bag. Mark my words.

The Psycho Killer’s first PPV match being against someone’s grandpa in clown makeup is a crime

Okay the match was better than I expected. Wrestlers beating the shit out of stuffed animals / harmless objects always gets me (see: Mr. Iguana) and the bumps Jericho is willing to take at his age are kinda surprising. Only bloody match of the night but it worked.

But the “painmaker” gimmick is stupid and added nothing to the match. I understand it less than I did beforehand. Ciampa is the standout and should have won, and Jericho needs to wrap up this “greatest” “hits” tour and retire already.

Hoping this is the end of their rivalry and Ciampa can move into better rivalries now. I’d love to see Ciampa go for the national title and be Andrade’s first big title rivalry.

i love Kyle Fletcher because he wears pink gear and rose crowns and cunty sunglasses to the ring and never once is his masculinity put into question for those things, and never once does he act like anything about what he wears is special

that’s just who he is and what he likes
