Matt Hardy Speaks Out On Jeff; How You Can Help

att Hardy has posted a new blog on his MySpace page detailing the entire night of witnessing his brother Jeff's house burning down. Matt wrote that he initially feared that Jeff and his girlfriend Beth were in the house but actually they were at Shannon Moore's tattoo shop and Jeff was getting one of his tattoos filled in. Matt told a heart wrenching story about finally getting a hold of Jeff only to tell him of the bad news that his dog Jack was lost in the fire.

Matt noted that the fire was believed to have been caused by electrical wiring inside of the home. He wrote that Jeff and Beth are currently living with him and that Jeff is currently sick from being so stressed out and that he needs everyone's help now more than ever. If you would like to send clothing (for Beth or Jeff), wrestling memorabilia, or anything else to help Jeff and Beth, Matt gave the following address for people to send stuff too:

JR's Blog: The Jeff Hardy Saga Continues

The fall out of the 60 day suspension of Jeff Hardy for a second violation of the WWE Wellness Policy is still making news. Sadly, Friday night, Jeff’s home in North Carolina burned to the ground and he lost essentially every thing he had and most sadly his dog. Losing an animal one is close to is just like losing a family member to many people and we just experienced that with the death of our 18 year old cat Molly who had to be put down after suffering a serious of strokes.

Apparently Matt Hardy saw smoke coming from Jeff’s home on Friday night, discovered that no one was home, but arrived at the house too late to do any thing but watch it burn to the ground.

These are challenging times for Jeff to say the least. Not only has he incurred his second strike with only one remaining before he would be terminated from the WWE, his situation has been underscored by the fact that his suspension went public per the WWE policy, which went into effect on November 1 and with which I wholeheartedly agree. Now Jeff’s home has been destroyed with the heart breaking reality that his beloved dog died in the fire as well.

Jeff’s career can be rebuilt if he so chooses to committing to do such. This commitment cannot be a short term commitment, but a life time commitment that must see him take it one day at a time and have the expressed goal of being successful in 24 hours intervals. I am one that truly believes that Jeff can make this happen, especially if those close to him offer Jeff the kind of support that he needs and that he seeks the wisdom and advise of a counselor who can help Jeff understand why these life and career threatening mistakes are being made.

Jeff’s home can be rebuilt materially, as well, but his many personal affects now nothing more than a memory. I hope this tragedy doesn’t push Jeff to the edge of the proverbial cliff to where his wrestling career becomes nothing more than a memory as well.

I grieve for the loss of the animal. I can only imagine what Jeff Hardy must be going through at this time. without question Jeff is being sternly tested. I hope he passes this test and the one’s to come admirably.

Jeff hardy will be 31 years old on August 31, 2008 and without question his wrestling career can be re-ignited if Jeff can prove to those that make the all important decisions that Jeff can be trusted and has become a responsible professional who understands how important it is to do the right things.

The trust factor is one that cannot be underscored enough. Over my 30+ years in the wrestling business I often wondered why so many of the men in charge were also their territories top stars. Owners/Promoters/Bookers like Eddie Graham, Verne Gagne, Fritz Von Erich, Bob Geigel, Bill Watts, Jerry Jarret and Jerry Lawler, The Funks, and so many more were their area’s top stars more often than not and did so because they knew they could trust and depend on their top stars, them. Being responsible and trust worthy are great traits to have in any field of endeavor, but it seems to be especially viable in the wrestling business based on my personal experiences.

Jeff Hardy can rebuild his home, hopefully he can somehow replace his beloved dog, I know that won’t be easy, but can he rebuild the trust with the WWE that allows Jeff to be provided with more opportunities to be the star that we all know that he can be? No one has this answer today. Only time will tell but I will say that my opinion is that it can be done but it certainly won’t be easy.

Jeff Hardy's House Burns Down. :(

Source: Rajah.com.

Just days after being suspended by WWE for 60 days due to another drug violation, there's even more bad news for Jeff Hardy.

Last night, his home in Cameron, North Carolina burned to the ground. Hardy and his girlfriend were not home when it happened, but virtually everything Hardy owned was destroyed. Sadly, his pet dog was lost in the fire.

No other details are available at this time.

If this is really true, then that's horrible! The poor thing! :(  I don't even know what to say - I just hope everything will turn out alright for them in the end. I'm glad they weren't home at the time. I feel terrible for them. :(

Hardy Gone for Longer Than 60 Days, Going Into Rehab?, More

It looks like we can rule marijuana out of the picture as far as Jeff Hardy's suspension is concerned. WWE only fines talents $1,000 for testing positive for pot use. Failing the Wellness test on a pot offense doesn't get you suspended and can't get you terminated.

It was rumored back in 2003 that Hardy was released from WWE after failing a drug test and that WWE asked him to check into rehab. The rumor went that Hardy refused to even considering going in and was then released from the company. Technically, WWE could suspend Hardy for longer than 60 days this time and could ask him to enter into a rehab program. Take a look at a paragraph straight from WWE's Wellness Policy concerning talents' 2nd offenses:

Second Offense. In the event of a second positive result for drugs prohibited by this Policy other than marijuana, the Talent shall be fined an amount equal to 60 days’ pay deducted from your downside guarantee on a weekly basis. The Company may, at its discretion, schedule the Talent to work selected televised events without pay, pay-per-views with pay and non-televised live events with a $200 stipend per event during the 60 day suspension period. Alternatively, in cases where the Talent appears to be in need of a drug rehabilitation program, the Talent shall not be assigned to work until the individual has successfully completed the drug rehabilitation program. However, regardless of the length of the program, the Talent’s fine shall be limited to 60 days’ pay.

We will keep you updated on anymore news surrounding Hardy's most recent suspension.

Twisting fate in their favor

Soon after WWE ushered in its “Attitude” era to our fans around the world, one brotherly tandem soared highest atop this new state of sports-entertainment. With their daredevil in-ring style, the high-flying, risk-taking Hardys ascended the ranks of the tag division as WWE.com’s No. 2 Greatest Tag Team.

Training themselves on a backyard trampoline while growing up in the pinewoods of Cameron, N.C., each Hardy achieved WWE Superstardom bringing different qualities to their battles – Jeff with his body-sacrificing aerial attacks, and Matt with a down-and-dirty, never-say-die attitude. Yet despite their individual disparities, the talented brothers formed an unbeatable bond in the ring. In fact, they were the epitome of sibling synchronization, combining Jeff’s fast-paced offense with Matt’s will to win. Any occasion that put the duo into ring action would result in what many – themselves included – labeled as sheer “Poetry in Motion.”

The Hardys’ joint climb to the top began with Michael “P.S.” Hayes – whose Fabulous Freebirds garnered WWE.com’s No. 5 spot in this List – as their manager, passing his knowledge down to Matt & Jeff. Their first taste of tandem gold came after defeating the A.P.A. for the World Tag Team Championship in June 1999; the reign was short-lived, though it firmly established The Hardys on WWE’s highly competitive tag team map.

Throughout 1999, 2000 and 2001, Matt & Jeff would have unforgettable rivalries with Edge & Christian (No. 4 on this List) the Dudley Boyz and seemingly unparalleled heights (look no further than Jeff’s terrfying leap off the top rung during WrestleMania 2000’s World Tag Team Title Ladder Match) while capturing World Tag Team gold four more times. The gravity-defying duo became a trio when Lita joined The Hardys to form “Team Xtreme” in 2000, and Matt & Jeff would continue to compete in some of the highest-risk, greatest reward contests in WWE history. Jeff’s willingness to constantly put his body on the line was fueled by both Matt’s persistent fortitude and the lady-luchadore – a mixture that skyrocketed all three Superstars to the top of WWE.

Matt & Jeff would split in 2002 as both pursued singles success, but in 2007, The Hardys reunited to capture the World Tag Team Titles a sixth time, once again proving that they were still the best at plying the tandem trade. And although they may not be a combined in-ring force right now, the brothers achieved tag team immortality long ago by pairing their blood, sweat and tears to their childhood dreams of performing for a worldwide audience inside a WWE ring.

Jeff Hardy: Warrior on a mission

BUFFALO, N.Y. – The best coaches in the nation teach visualization. They train their athletes to mentally see their goals being achieved – whether they are a field goal, a home run or that elusive championship – and then physically follow through to make them happen.

While it’s not known if Intercontinental Champion Jeff Hardy is a student of visualization, seeing himself crash down onto Randy Orton with a Swanton Bomb Monday night at the HSBC Arena wasn’t just a mental image. It was very real. And for the WWE Champion, it was a real wake-up call.

As the newly-crowned No. 1 contender for Orton’s WWE Title, Hardy has the opportunity of a lifetime as he rides the hottest streak of his singles career. In consecutive nights, he’s defeated the 11-time World Champion Triple H and the current WWE Champion in tag team action.

The colorful high-flyer from North Carolina has spent years on top of the tag team division with his brother Matt, winning six World Tag Team Titles and the WCW Tag Team Championship. With his innovative arsenal of attacks, there’s no question that Jeff is one of, if not the best partner a Superstar can have in a tag team match.

But Hardy has proven he’s not just a tag team specialist. He’s shown his talents and hiccup-quick moves translate to singles action as well, winning nine titles on his own against some of the top Superstars in WWE, earning the respect of the locker room and the adoration of his legions of fans.

“The fans don’t lie. The belief they have in me, that’s really made me strong,” Hardy told WWE.com, still catching his breath after his exhausting victory on Raw.

A repeat of Monday’s Raw win at the Royal Rumble will make Hardy’s lifelong dreams of becoming WWE Champion a reality in the World’s Most Famous Arena, Madison Square Garden.

But Orton, who’s put numerous Superstars and legends out of action with brutal attacks in the past, plans on derailing Hardy’s momentum as they ride the road to their Rumble match-up.

“I’m not just the Legend Killer,” Orton told Todd Grisham on Raw. “I’m the killer of hopes. The killer of dreams.”

But after a month of mind games and intimidation from The Game leading up to their Armageddon match-up, Hardy is ready for anything the third-generation champion can throw his way.

“I’m not a bit afraid," Hardy exclaimed, in a manner almost as defiant as his high-flying tactics. "I’m more excited than anything to face Randy Orton. I’ve been beat up my whole life, but now is my time to shine and be on the offense.”

Unless the Legend Killer can find a way to curtail the “Rainbow-haired Warrior’s” soaring rise to the pinnacle of sports-entertainment, Hardy might soon see his WWE Championship dreams fulfilled, giving Orton nightmares in the process.
