Celebrating the Beauty of Nature

Pearl Crescent Butterfly (Phyciodes tharos) on a Native American Sunflower (Helianthus annuus).   This butterfly was a nice surprise on my most recent spider hunt.  These flowers can tower over 8 feet tall from my experience and this year in particular their numbers are booming.  I'm thinking I might collect some seeds to toss into my back yard.  We allow a certain level of "overgrowth" of wildflowers along our fence lines.
