Hi! I’m Natalie. I’m trans of gender and ace of sexual and I write dark fantasy and dark sci-fi adventure stories full of boners and thud-and-blunder action violence wherein no swash remains unbuckled, nor pot unboiled. I also blog about books and history and languages and I write essays and poetry sometimes, and don’t forget about the many exciting Age of Empires 2 scenarios available at Natalie’s Cool Website.

You might have heard my short story The Wishing Tree on the Tales to Terrify podcast! (now available as a zine from Grinning Kitten Press). Other stuff I’ve published to date includes:

THE LAST GIRL SCOUT: A post-apocalyptic wasteland adventure story and transbian romance about two women who fall in lesbians together and fight Nazis and draculas in the bombed-out ruins of Old America

LEAD AND ROSES: LOVE SONGS AT THE END OF THE WORLD: A collection of short fiction set within 23rd-century post-nuclear wasteland we’ve all come to know and love

IN THE COURT OF THE NAMELESS QUEEN: A collection of dark fantasy f/f erotica about sexy swashbuckling swordswomen (both cis and normal) and a giant scary monster lady in a far-off realm of adventure and dark magic.

If you’re curious I’d really like it if you’d check out my Patreon because there’s even more fantabulous treasures on there and you can subscribe for the low, low price of just one American dollar. Your one American dollar will go toward the ever topical “Natalie can make rent and doesn’t starve” philanthropy fund.

I’m gonna stay here on Tumblr until they forcibly remove me from the premises, but I’m also on Pillowfort, Bluesky, and Cohost

I’m also $NatalieIronside on cashapp and I have a wishlist on Throne if u want to help me pick up work supplies or just kick me some groceries (please do I am very hungry):

It’s hot, it’s steamy, it’s got (concerningly - for me at least, who is generally not a monsterfucker…though…maybe I am now?) sexy spiders. In the Court of the Nameless Queen is the lastest of @natalieironside‘s books, and is very, *very* good. Ironside is a fantastic writer (if you haven’t already read her book The Last Girl Scout, absolutely go do so; her worldbuilding is gorgeous), and this is just the latest example of her meaningful and enjoyable writing. I could easily go on about the smutty, smutty (smutty smutty smutty) scenes which are way too hot to have been reading in a dermatology clinic when I’m meant to writing down what’s happening (who can focus on how many actinic keratoses the doc is treating with liquid nitrogen when the Nameless Queen is doing *that* to Freydis? Not me, that’s who). But Ironside goes beyond the (smutty smutty) sex scenes to create a world that I, for one, am fascinated with. Honestly, I’m hoping to see more out of this world from her!

Also it’s very very hot. Like. So hot. Too hot. Help

After seeing this post several times, I bought the audiobook. I regret nothing.

Ariana spends a lot of time and effort on making this subject approachable, and works hard to craft a safe space within the pages of her book. Like many others, I came from a conservative Christian upbringing, and drifted away from my spiritual practices when I left the church. Reconnecting with that part of myself, now free from the shackles of shame and guilt was an amazing experience.

Tonight by the fire, I poured out my first offering to Artemis. I haven't felt this at peace in a very long time. Thank you, Ariana.

Y'know they never managed to recover the Emperor Valens' remains after Adrianople so I don't think he died. I think Valens tucked his arms and legs into his stomach, curled up into a ball, and he just rolled away.

"But others affirm that, having put off his imperial robe, the emperor ran into the midst of the main body of infantry; and that when the cavalry revolted and refused to engage, the infantry were surrounded by the Goths and completely destroyed in a body. Except for the emperor because he tucked his arms and legs into his stomach, curled up into a ball, and he just rolled away."

transandrosis

I wish more people understood how deeply embarrassing it is to be made fun of for something you can't control.

This post could be referencing any number of things but is specifically about body odor. I've said before that I have hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating). I'm so self-conscious about it that I shower every day (sometimes multiple times a day!) and wear deodorant and antiperspirant all over my body. This doesn't even help.

People's negative comments about how weebs/nerds smell bad and don't care about hygiene affect me and people like me. Yes, even those of us who aren't that into anime.

Before you tell me that hyperhidrosis is rare, so you don't want to stop making these comments on account of us -- I'm not just talking about people with hyperhidrosis. There are so many disabilities that cause issues with hygiene. I'm guessing there are an even larger number of people who don't have regular access to running water.

Y'all already know not to make fun of people you dislike by calling them fat. Now think about all the other people you might be hurting when you make fun of people you dislike.
