Q&A

It's meme time!

From [livejournal.com profile] xbeax

Leave me a comment saying "Resistance is Futile."
• I'll respond by asking you five questions so I can satisfy my curiosity
• Update your journal with the answers to the questions
• Include this explanation in the post and offer to ask other people questions

She asked me... )

There is also this other meme that keeps popping up on my flist

You know how sometimes people on your friendslist post about stuff going on in their life, and all of a sudden you think "Wait a minute? Since when were they working THERE? Since when were they dating HIM/HER? Since when???" And then you wonder how you could have missed all that seemingly pretty standard information, but somehow you feel too ashamed to ask for clarification because it seems like info you should already know? It happens to all of us sometimes.

Please copy the topics below, erase my answers and put yours in their place, and then post it in your journal! Please elaborate on the questions that would benefit from elaboration. One-Word-Answers seldom help anyone out.

things you probably already know, but whatever :) )

[livejournal.com profile] seratonation is going on a journey! And she asked for travel songs.

I utterly fail at making mixes, but hey, it's fun :)

Let's go to Candy Mountain, Charlie! )

Let's start with a laugh, yes?

*hasn't stopped laughing since this afternoon*

A-hem... So, I've been kinda busy with uni these past two weeks, but since most of my courses ended last Friday, I should be somewhat more active in the future :D (too bad one of those courses was children lit. :[).
Oh. Interesting fact: I found out that History makes me emotional. At first I thought it was only when the prof talked about the Constitution, but then we moved on and started discussing about colonialism and imperialism and the ideology behind them and their consequences and I teared up anyway. I thought I had mastered the I-won't-let-reality-touch-me attitude back in highschool. Apparently, not so much.

On a happier note, I'm starting to get an idea of what I want to do for my thesis \o/ I talked about it with my parents (mum:"Cool! And you could tie that up with this other thing! And also this other one! :DDD"; dad:"Uh. Uh. Here, LET ME GIVE YOU SOME TONS OF MATERIAL YOU CAN WORK WITH!" *drowns me under a pile of meterial*. &them;) and with a friend of ours who is also a professor (her face: :DDD), so I'm kind of not stressed about it as much I thought I would be.

Hey, you want to laugh some more? I found a couple of picture of Lara and I goofing with this year carved pumpkin :D
Our heads are hollow... )

We spent this past weekend helping one of my aunt move. Actually, she moved to the apartament above the one she had been living in till last Sunday (which also happened to be my grandparents' second house. So we had to empty that one first and then bring my aunt's stuff in. It was a sad affair because half of the things there were my grandma's). She lives in Rocca di Papa, a pretty nice place as you can see :) )

Anyway. My plans for next week are: catching up with Merlin (I'm so terribly behind D:), tidy up my [livejournal.com profile] curtainfic prompt and send it over (because you can never send things too early!), draw something to bribe [livejournal.com profile] devilswhore_x with (you have received my email, right?) and come up with something other than housemaid!Brendon/count!Spencer because of course that is not a valid pairing for the Girl Challenge over at [livejournal.com profile] rarebandom (do suggest, flist!), buy more yarn, knit more hats, stop listening to Norah Jones on loop (yes, that's a link to dl her latest album), study (ahahahah), tick off some of the things on my to-draw list that keeps getting longer...

In conclusion

I am in love :)

A couple of weeks ago I asked you guys for prompts and I finally got around to scan the doodles :)

[livejournal.com profile] wethepainted asked for Ryan the writer/15th century poet )

[livejournal.com profile] saba1789 asked for hugging )

P.S. Milly, your prompt is still on my to-do-list... but faily spies are hard to draw D:

This is for those of you who never got a chance to Trick or Treat, or who grew out of it before your time, or for everyone who has an unnatural affinity for extortion...

So, in the words of the creepy dude on your street who gets his mail in his boxers and robe, "Give me a trick, I'll give you a treat, baby *winkwinknudgenudge*"

Please feel free to put this up in your LJ to invite trick or treaters to your own door. Treats can be anything that strikes your fancy (pics of fave actors, one sentence fics, a few words why you're glad to have them on your flist, etc. etc.). The more "houses" to visit the more fun it'll be, so spread the fun!

...Go wild! I'm up for anything! Doodles, faily drabbles, impromptu picspams, you name it :D (and I have nothing planned for tonight apart the halloween movie marathon on TV - Corpse Bride, Alien vs Monsters, The Haunted Mansion - yes, I'm Lamey McLame so you can be sure that I'll deliver everything you'll ask me :)

This seems to be everywhere :)

The problem with LJ: We all think we are so close, but really we know nothing about one another. So I want you to ask me something you think you should know about me. Something that should be obvious, but you have no idea about. Ask away.

In other news, I feel like I should print some flyers with the basic steps to ensure nobody dies of asfixiation when attending lectures at uni. Really, is it that difficult to take a shower in the morning? Or wear clothes that don't smell of last week's stale sweat? Or use deodorant? And no, spraying your mom's primrose eau de toilette all over yourself to cover the odour of your hate for everything soap-related is not acceptable >:(

I'm kinda scared by TYV's upcoming album. I like Change better than this new one... and Change's not my cup of tea. I feel like a bad fan :/

I think I've reached my personal lameness record this past weekend. Most 20-somethings would go party, but not me. No. My weekend was spent reorganizing my wardrobe, watching silly cartoons (Kung Fu Panda, Alvin and the Chipmunks, Happy Feet) and crocheting. At least I now have a new hat?

Today, both mum and I were going home at the same time, so I called her and asked if I could hitch a ride on her scooter. She said "Sure baby, but do you have a helmet?" and no, I didn't have one with me, was there a spare helmet over at the shop? Her answer was "Mmmm... I'm sure we can come up with something". The "something" turned out to be an upturned salad bowl covered with a black plastic bag to make it look less like an upturned salad bowl. I wish I had pictures to show you because it was truly hilarious :D &mum'sideas;

So, what's the most hilarious thing you ever did with your mum?

Ok, nobody complained for the music dump last week so here, have fun:

The Academy is... - I'm Yours Tonight

Paramore - Brand New Eyes

And my favourite this week, Kings of Convenience - Declaration of Dependence
(How I love this band! "Riot on an Empty Street" was the first album I spent money on :) Ah, the memories...) (Also, if you want their other albums, just tell me and I'll upload them ;])

Oh, hey. You know what's really exciting? MERLIN IS BACK! I've been flailing via e-mail at [livejournal.com profile] toodelicious like a spaz. If you haven't watched the first episode yet, GO WATCH IT NOW! OMG! There's jealous!Merlin! And Gaius must have spoken to the slash dragon! And oh the slashiness! I promise you'll love it to pieces (and then come back here so we can flail all together \o/)

RL is kind of boring. I've watched Bambi twice this past week, and I've been trying to find an .avi file of the second one... Bambi II is the only sequel/midquel that's worth watching. I cry harder with it that with the original. Yes, I know I am a total lamer. No, I am not ashamed. How could I when it has gems like this: )
([livejournal.com profile] devilswhore_x, we need to seriously discuss this au thingie. I just realized that Brendon is not Bambi, he is Faline!)

So, other than Disney-related entertainment, I've done pretty much nothing apart from sketching things for random competitions (not the FOB one, I don't think I could pull it off), poking WASP (now at the glorious total of 4000+ words of unrelated bits and pieces and no end in sight. Ah ah ah. /o\) and playing Tap Tap Revenge on Katiephone (that game is addicting! I scored 100% on ABC \o/).

What about you flist?
Rec time \o/

1. Mika's new album, "The Boy Who Knew Too Much". I like it even better than his first one. "Blue Eyes" is delightful, "By The Time" has a Imogen Heap feeling to me and that makes me very happy. The way he mixes sad lyrics with upbeat/cheery/sweet music... Really, click on that link up there and take a copy and, if you like it, go buy the CD when it'll come out (Wikipedia tells me on the 18th in Italy, on the 21st in the rest of the world). I know I will :)

2. This essay on drawing by spoonbard over at DeviantArt. Go read it NOW! Go read it even if you think you're not an artist :)

3. "Two Musicians in Search of a Song", posted at [livejournal.com profile] popoffacork. It is pure bliss.
And "Genetic Profile" by [livejournal.com profile] arsenicjade (thanks to [livejournal.com profile] _princess_han_ for the rec ♥). It's a Bandom/CriminalMinds crossover wherein Ryan is Reid's cousin. The way [livejournal.com profile] arsenicjade managed to keep the various characters true and still mix two fandoms that have nothing to do with each other is amazing. Read it!

4. Forget Zorbing. I want to do BASE JUMPING WEARING A WINGSUIT! Who's with me? :D?

P.S. If you want a copy of Fun./Muse album, just click on the link :)

And now, a meme from [livejournal.com profile] deep_lost

Comment on this post. I will choose seven interests from your profile and you will explain what they mean and why you are interested in them. Post this along with your answers in your own journal so that others can play along.
