Caffeine Junkie

アッパレ　やってま～す！(Appare yattemasu!) is a radio show airing on MBS four days a week at 22:00. Like many shows on the network, each day of the week has a different set of hosts. These posts only concern the Wednesday edition.

Our hosts are:
Takanori Nishikawa - T.M.Revolution, abingdon boys school, Inazuma Rock Fes, IENOMI etc. etc. etc. You know who he is.
(A bird will call him Strawberry)

TETSUYA - L'Arc~en~Ciel, TETSUYA and the Juicy-Bananas, tetsuya's press, random and sundry radio shows. You know who is, too.
(A bird will call him Banana)

*Collectively, Strawberry and Banana are termed "the Fruits"
The Fruits have known each other since the late 80s when they were struggling indie rockers in Osaka, spilt for a while after their respective debuts, reunited on Music Station in 2001, and have been close friends guest-starring on each others stuff ever since.

Takahashi Minami - member of AKB48. Actually pretty cool in non-AKB media. Has known Takanori since they both started appearing on Shin!Domoto Kyoudai, and since then has guested on his IENOMI program and so on. He calls her General Director.
(but A bird will call her TakaMina)

Kendo Kobayashi - Comedian, mostly. Also appears on TV variety shows, the occasional drama or movie. Used to be on Wednesday Gocha Maze! with Takanori and has turned up at IRF.
(A bird will call him Kendo)

Yuki Morizaki - Chef and Model, apparently. I don't know anything about her other than what's said on this show.
(A bird will call her Yuki)

Our own tetsuowl is providing recordings, and I will provide summaries of the fruity highlights when I can.
These reports focus on what the fruits say!

There's an idol guest, another AKB48 member, to fill in.

So they talk is mostly about her and would have been even if Banana was there.
Which he's not.

So no real post today :/

I tried a THING where I just do the report by tweeting about it and then collect all the tweets instead of rewriting it properly
This is my first time using storyfy so sorry if it's all weird
I just reordered a few of the tweets so it makes more sense than when I was tweeting it the first time XD

Bird is getting out of here.
By the end of 2014 I will no longer be living in Japan.
I'm aiming to leave by autumn, though circumstances may have me leaving sooner.
People at work know I'm job hunting - though at this point who the hell isn't.

I am currently looking for a job back home in Canada.
It's time to get out of Japan, and I could use a while back home.
Ideally I'll keep working in translation but who the hell knows because I sure don't. But that's a different rant.

If anybody wants stuff à la BirdBrain shopping let me know asap.

The end! Probably no more reports for a while.

On fandom and all the things - I'm Done.

Maybe it's already obvious, but I no longer really do much in terms of fan work these days.
It's gotten to the point where I don't think I ever will.

The half-finished live reports will never get done.
I'm no longer committing to writing them for every show I attend, and in any case I plan to go to fewer shows now than I used to.
"Catch the Banana AGAIN" just isn't as motivating as it was the first time around, right?

As for fan translations, I'm just Done.
I've picked up Tetsugaku2 and put it back down again without translating a word, a few times now.
It just isn't going to happen.

I translate for a living now, and after 8+ hours of it I don't feel like doing more, not even for my fandoms.
Sorry to disappoint, but don't look to me for these things anymore.
My site is staying up, of course, but there will probably rarely, if ever, be new material.

For now, I'm still doing Gocha Maze! but that's it.

I've had a great run as translator!Bird for L'Arc, and to a lesser extent TMR and abs.
Try Risa (of L'Arc UK) for the former and Ruby ( @RubyChan228) for the latter.

From now on, the Bird is officially just gonna be a Bird.

It makes sense because a bird's only religion is ROCK!!!
