if you read my recall posts and think "wow, it feels like there is a recall at least once a week in the US these days" you are completely wrong
there are recalls every single day in the united states. please do not rely on one charming tumblr user to tell you about every one of the dozens of recalls that can happen in one single american day. I absolutely cannot even post about a tenth of the recalls that happen in the US.
I link to every official affiliated agency and official recall announcement on every one of my recall posts because I want you to be looking at the actual real official recall feeds and not just my rebloggabale edutainment posts where I also talk about international popsicle titles and cool internet comics
I know you have an internet connection
🇺🇸 in the past month alone (july 22 2026 to august 22 2026 whenever I started typing) there have been 🇺🇸:
- 40 food and drug administration (FDA) recall entries published to the FDA recalls, market withdrawals, & safety alerts page
- 431 FDA recall entries published to the FDA enforcement report
- 27 published FDA warning letters, 54 FDA import alerts, 6 new FDA foodborne illness outbreak investigations plus 12 others still ongoing
- 64 consumer product commission (CPSC) product recall entries
- 16 CPSC product safety warnings (company refused to issue a recall)
- 816 product safety incident reports published to CPSC's official saferproducts.gov (most of these products are still being sold)
- 74 national highway traffic safety administration (NHTSA) recall entries
- 10 NHTSA vehicle safety issue investigations
- at least 11 united states department of agriculture food safety and inspection service (USDA FSIS) recall entries (website is down for me right now) (recalls of meat, poultry, and processed egg food products)
there have been over 500 fucking US recall entries published in the past month, and more since I started typing this post. this is not a comprehensive list of every source for US recalls, recall entries, or public safety publications.
I say recall "entries" because one single recall entry can contain hundreds of recalled products/models/flavors/codes/batches/lots/etc. if you wanted to count all of those individually, it would be somewhere between THOUSANDS and TENS OF THOUSANDS of recalls. in one month!
each of my big circulating rune style tumblr posts about recalls, outbreaks, safety alerts, etc takes ~3 to 12+ hours to research, write, edit, alt text, arrange, format, proofread, source, and then hit post. not including breaks. this post alone took 3-4 hours.
listen, you fucking rock. I enjoy spending time with you. we have a lot of fun together. I tell great jokes. sometimes you make me laugh too.
but I physically can not post about even 1% of all recalls and safety alerts in the US, let alone anywhere else in the world.
so do me this favor: if recalls or safety publications in the US are relevant to you at all, bookmark some of the links in this post and check them every now and then. once a week, once a month, once a year, whatever you can manage. maybe even sign up for some alerts.
you must not rely on my posts, anyone else's posts, social media as a whole, or even news outlets to keep up with recalls in the US. if you want to keep up with recalls/outbreaks/safety alerts/etc in the US, you need to follow official government sources.
