4 muse icons. Unexpected, I know!

. I've never been good at this...

Sorry to trouble everyone, but I have a quick question. This is not meant to generate community activity, per se, but I'm wondering if this is something everyone wants to a. keep open to (potentially) use in the future or refer to as an archive or b. save down your bits and close the community in the interest of the currently popular streamlining of info pages.

I will not be offended if it's the latter. I know that for the most part it was a fun idea for the moment and not really a long-term trend, so if everyone thinks the towel should be thrown in, that's fine by me. Just give a holler and let me know. :)

Please comment and credit yadda yadda yadda...

I'd kick this to see if it's still here but let's face it, that amounts to kicking my computer itself, and that's bad. So why don't we just re-open (after a fashion) as of now and see where it goes? If it doesn't go at all, well; we'll deal with that later.

Some thoughts/mentions:

• I redid the layout, if you want to call it that. ;) Style and color scheme, really. Eventually I'll get fancier with this, but for now at least I've gotten us away from that Martha Stewart Did Meth Here look. Next time, people, stop me.



• We have a new community icon, with shiny new social violence and unsurprising sarcasm. Don't know how long it will last, but it's there. lol



• I'm going to go out on a limb and say that most or all of you know about the recent AOL/Netscape race to be the biggest numbnut of the net universe and the subsequent problems with linking images to LJ. If you don't know, I would ask how the internet connects to you all the way under that rock, but that's just the 2:something in the morning after insufficient sleep last night talking. Long story boring? I am not against any posts seeking information on picture hosts that still work if in fact this issue still concerns you. Many already have their own webspace I know, but wanderers feel free to speak up! Better to be able to see your work than not.



• This brings me to my next point, which is more of a question--would people like to post icons here other than muse icons? Or do we want to revisit the idea we kicked around briefly of having challenges? We seem to be a bit more productive/have more fun surfing themes, so I am open to ideas. Just let me know.

Since my muse is a b&w movie snob and already did her twisted version of the movies thing, I thought I'd let you in on what she's doing now. At least this time she wrote.

Take your muse to the movies!! Or she'll whine!

I made two whole Monty Python ones. Showed serasempre in passing earlier and she pointed out that on one of them, a word was spelled wrong. This DOES explain why the word fit where it did, but in the meantime, if the topic "movies" doesn't move you, perhaps "The Muse vs. Midnight Grammar" will? (Writing at night good. Iconning at night? Not always your friend.)

The end result is that I'm just using the less sucky one to pimp the challenge. Do better than this--which you all can with your toes--and you're golden!
