Welcome to my small kingdom
So I have started watching Anime in 2010.
In 2012, I set myself the goal to watch all Anime and started watching every seasonal.
In 2020, I started my 10-year-plan:
Watching everything in a 10 year schedule, for example, in 2020: 2020,2010,2000,1990,1980,1970,1960
This is further divided into 4 Seasons:
Winter, Spring, Summer, Fall
With this, it is possible for me to rewatch Anime I haven't in a long time while also finishing the remaining ones! By 2030, I will have watched the final Anime.
In 2022, I moved to include Cartoons in this plan as well. (For the time being, only ones dubbed in my language; Counting around 1700 Series & 1600 Movies currently)
It will be very interesting to compare those (statistics) with Anime!
2025 January: 50% of Anime (re)watched since 2020! In the next 5 years till 2030 I will finally complete 100%!
Miniupdate April 2026: Still on Track for Completion by 2030. Finishing Cartoon Series this year after 6 years so feeling a bit empty haha. But happy that I still have some anime in front of me. Currently I'm watching Nana for the first time ever!
I create multiple AMVs that reflect my 10 year Anime journey from 2020 - 2030. This includes around 5 new videos per season. If you want to check them out, PM me~
PS If you want to watch all anime you're more than welcome to talk. I haven't found many people with the same goals sadly
In my List, you will find some Anime tagged:
China - Chinese Production
Korea - Korean Production
Lost - Anime is unobtainable
Excluded - Anime is included in the TV Series (only for internal organizational Reasons) and gets no seperate Entry
This will be very handy in the future, because we will have a 100% complete List of all Korean & Chinese Animations as well an overview of all Anime that are unobtainable.
Please note that my list (for now) has some errors because its quite big and I havent gotten around to fixing it, so bear that in mind.
From 2016-2022 I have been Anime Moderator on MAL. Feel free to ask me if you have questions concerning the database!

I'm doing much better now, thank you so much for asking! My internship actually ended a while ago and I had some time to breathe and recharge. Mentally I'm in a much better place too - sometimes you just need to step back and let yourself rest, you know? I'm really grateful you checked in on that, it means a lot!
Oh my god, your story about why you started watching anime really resonated with me so much!! I think a lot of us start things because we want to belong or be part of conversations, but then somewhere along the way we fall in love with the thing itself and forget the original reason. It's actually beautiful that you went from "I need to watch everything to be a real fan" to genuinely caring about the medium and finding your own taste. That takes so much self-awareness! And you're so right about people having different tastes - I used to feel bad for not liking super popular shows too, I haven't watched many yet, but now I just accept that my taste is my taste and that's okay~
I looked at Puniru wa Kawaii Slime and it looks so cute, will surely watch it someday! I love that you found meaning in something so simple and quirky. That's exactly the kind of thing that makes anime special - it doesn't have to be a masterpiece to remind you why you love this medium. There really is SO much hidden beauty out there if you keep looking! And the idea of giving shows second or third chances is something I've been thinking about too.
Speaking of nostalgia and openings - YES!! I never skip openings either, they're like emotional bookmarks for each show. It's so sad that modern anime sometimes skips them or uses shorter versions. There's something magical about hearing a song and instantly being transported back to when you first watched that series. I hope studios never fully abandon them!
As for cartoons - I haven't gotten to Pantheon or Invincible yet (I know, I'm terrible ;_;), but I've been meaning to! Especially now that you mention Invincible's new season is coming so soon, I really need to catch up! I'll probably start with Invincible first since you seem so hyped about it. Bojack Horseman really did change how I view animated storytelling though, so I'm excited to see what other emotional rollercoasters are out there. Right now I'm also watching South Park, and It's really funny, I also have the South Park: The Stick of Truth game, maybe i should finish it..
And YES, I love Elden Ring!! I actually finished it last year and it was such an incredible experience. Dark Souls 1 was my entry point into the genre and Elden Ring just blew my mind with how massive and beautiful it was. The difficulty is so satisfying once you get into the rhythm of it. Have you tried any of the DLC? I haven't yet but I heard it's amazing!
I actually haven't started any of your specific recommendations yet because I got completely absorbed into something else, I'm rewatching Naruto right now, and not just the main series, I'm going through ALL the movies and OVAs with it too! It's been such a nostalgic journey and honestly I'm in this whole mood for rewatching older series and seeing if my opinion on them has changed over time. I think your 10-year gap system really planted that seed in my head - the idea of coming back to something with fresh eyes and a different perspective. I watched Naruto years ago when I was pretty young and I remember finding certain parts boring or dragging, but now I'm noticing so many little details I missed before and appreciating the worldbuilding and character dynamics in a completely new way. It's such a different experience when you're not just rushing to see what happens next, you know? I can actually savor the moments and understand the themes better. I think this rewatching phase is exactly what I needed right now, and once I'm done with my Naruto journey I'll definitely dive into your recommendations with that same open mindset! Fushigi Yuugi is still high on my list too from our earlier conversation~
Your seasonal system still inspires me so much btw - I've been trying to organize my watching a bit more and it's honestly helped with the overwhelm. I'm slowly starting to watch everything from 2026, 2016, 2006, 1996, etc. I hope I can do it this year and that I won't get burnt out. Baby steps!
And YES, I'd love to move to Discord! That sounds perfect actually - I feel like we have so much to talk about and it would be way easier to keep up there. My tag is __yuii, feel free to add me whenever!
Thank you again for always writing such thoughtful messages and sharing so much of your journey with me. It really does inspire me and I always learn something new from our conversations. Please don't ever feel like you're writing too much - I genuinely treasure every word and I'm so glad we connected! (´• ω •̥`) ♡
Wishing you an amazing week too, and I'm so excited to hopefully chat more regularly soon! Take care of yourself and happy watching~ ☆
