Cheko/Potemayo and Guchuko/Nachiko are similar character designs and ideas. Bith shows have zany comedy. Potemayo emebeds it into a real story, whereas Pugyuru is ubridled 4-koma insanity.

Both seek answers to the hard question of self-sacrifice and the meaning of life. Sounds cheesy, but that#s what both of them do.

Both are superficially fluffy and girly shows, but have a dark philosophical heart. Their shared theme is the inevitability of fate, and how to break that wheel. They both deal with death, loss, and sacrifice out of love in a very mature manner but in the framework of a show for young girls. This creates cognitive dissonance with the fluffy character and comedy, because neither of them is dark all the time. There are parallels between the characters Mitsuki and Tutu, Takuto and Fakir and the Shinigami boss and Drosselmeyer. It may be no conincidence that both shows came out 2002 either. Full Moon is targeting a slightly younger audience than Tutu, but when it comes to tragedy, hits just as hard.

Space babes on the run from law enforcement having comedic adventures. Sol Bianca is more serious, Tenamonya Voyagers more zany and ecchi. They however share the base setting and all female crew.
