So yeah! Cyberpunk 2077 is rather impressive. No DRM included and you get to own it as long as you use GOG.

I haven't played it since last December though.

I'll be reading the space opera Saga which has xenofiction included. Significantly less bloated and overcommercialized than Star Wars guaranteed.

Knights of the Old Republic is still pretty cool space opera though. That and the old Halo games.

Yes! I was in K-Mart when I saw Halo being released and saw five boys being hyped about that game. As we can see, action sells.

Anywho! I'll be reading Saga while Cyberpunk Edgerunners season 2, Dot Hack Zero (hopefully there will be that return of Dot Hack) and the upcoming Animorphs adaptation (failure should never be an option for Disney).

Yes! Animorphs was all the rage back in the late 90s and I have yet to see Marco transform into a gorilla in live-action. I also didn't see his gorilla transformation in Shattered Reality.

Transforming into a tiger is pretty cool though and tigers have enough physical strength to match a bulky alien in a 1-1 match.

The most realistic superpower that I could achieve is slinging with deadly accuracy like the Chamorro tribesmen (imagine how dangerous these south Pacific islanders would have been with aerodynamic ferrous ammo). Like how Deadshot does it with guns. I know that I would use aerodynamic steel ammo in a real fight for max stopping power. I can sling faster than the caveman in FC Primal and a giant bear isn't going to wait for your helicopter sling technique. Figure 8 and Greek underhand are preferred.

Speaking of FC, I heard that Ubisoft is planning to release Far Cry 7 out of desperation. I still think that the French studio is all washed up. Especially for not giving us a Beyond Good and Evil sequel. Assassin's Creed is too predictable for my tastes seeing that there are better action games in 3PV out there.

I had no idea that you played Cyberpunk 2077, but decades prior to this one, Arc The Lad games (part 3 is kind of humorous and comic relief would be necessary in a post-apocalyptic world after Romallia tried to doom the whole world with black magic; dooming the world with unspeakable technology) and the OG Grandia explored that theme.

As for Hollywood movies, I feel like Warner hasn't made a movie like Deep Blue Sea in decades. If you think about it, genetic engineering can be a sign of industrial and technological overreach. Often seen as black science. At least there's Jurassic Park telling audiences about the consequences of black science, but that's a Universal IP. No way would I want black science to put prehistoric creatures that deserve to be extinct next door to us. Worse, mess with the space-time continuum. So we could end up with prehistoric creatures anyway?

The extradimensional beings or lucifer hawks that were invited in the world of Silent Möbius by cultists reminded me of early Hellboy. Those same extradimensional beings also remind me somewhat of how the T'lan monsters were brought to Earth to wreak havok in Breakdown (a Namco property; also exploring the consequences of crazy military experiments which thankfully, made a supersoldier, giving him the opportunity to use his superpowers for good while cleaning up some mess by the military). No way would I want monsters from another universe to be forced into our planet or timeline via cultists, an alien race, mad scientists, etc.

100% screw that! That is, people playing god or messing with black science. People like Cadmus in DC (using superhuman research for personal gain; as ambitious as the military that forced Derrick Cole to become a supersoldier, attempting to make him a tool for war).

Yes, the kingdom of Romallia using kids as guinea pigs in Arc The Lad games was atrocious, dehumanizing and unspeakable evil. So glad a siege happened in that franchise.

With that said, I'd love to know more about your Cyberpunk 2077 experience whenever possible.

Long time no speak, but anyway! What do you think of stories delving into the consequences of technological and industrial overreach (generally or occasionally exploring that theme)?

I picked up Japanese along the way. Even during that time I was re-reading Silent Möbius, going with the flow Japanese text-wise.

I also found out that Japanese people prefer names to pronouns and the lack of articles sounds very convenient where as in Romance family languages, articles are overused. I hate seeing repetitive or similar articles in every sentence. Those Japanese are lucky they they don't have to worry about articles and pronouns.

So yes! It was nice reading a manga in its original language for the first time.
