You should have stuck with Grow Up Show! Ep.07 explains a LOT! And it's really well written, like Ikoku Nikki levels of writing! It gets better and better, a gem in a very strong season. I'm a fan of strong writing & this show has that "in spades" eh? Cheers.

I don't fully agree with your Grow Up Show review, but yeah you're totally right, having Mizuka's life get fucked up by her father training her non-stop and even to the point of traumatizing her as a kid (remember, she didn't even want to be in the circus to begin with...), doesn't exactly give a good first impression, and maybe it wouldn't be so bad if it wasn't brought up so often or turned into a joke.

To make it worse...


Keeping all of that in mind, how are you supposed to like her father, or anyone for that matter, as just about everyone wants Mizuka to perform, even if she doesn't want to! It makes it even worse when everyone in the show praises her father.

Maybe at some point the other girls will confront her father about how he trained and traumatized her, but even then it's just so shitty how in episode 6 she's made out to be the bad guy, and how it's rude to everyone else to not perform, even though she doesn't want to anymore.

It's like despite being the victim of early circus training that she didn't ask for, and being traumatized from a young age, everyone expects her to suck it up, and still perform.
