Biography:

Peyo, a pseudonym of Pierre Culliford, was a Belgian comics writer and artist. His best-known works are the comic book series Les Schtroumpfs (French), known as The Smurfs (English) in English and Johan et Pirlouit (French), in the latter of which The Smurfs made their first appearance.

Notes:

Not to be confused with manga artist 恵口公生 (b. 1997) (Kosei Eguchi), also known as Peyo, who died August 19, 2021.
