So apparently, Kripke's out and Gaiman's in and they're still planning a Sandman adaptation? I don't know if I believe it will ever actually get made, but I really wasn't excited in a good way about Kripke being attached to it, so this sounds like good news. But they really need to get it done while they can still cast Benedict Cumberbatch as Morpheus, because I had never seen anyone who looked like they could actually pull off the role until I saw him.
