I'm a writer, sporadic artist, and event mod. This is my personal account. Writing will occasionally be posted to [community profile] musewrites.

I prefer mutuals. Feel free to request access to this blog whether we know each other or not! I love talking to people and am always happy to make friends. As long as you appear to be an adult human who enjoys fannish spaces, we should be fine. If you just subscribe, I'll assume you want to see public posts only. I prune my access list periodically and adjust based on settings.

Event participants are welcome to follow, but please understand you're following me personally by subscribing to this blog. I occasionally limit personal contact if I only know someone via events and they later withdraw. (That becomes too confusing/murky for me to parse.) Please follow [community profile] ficwip for event info & ask any event-related questions there.

Small Fandom Bang

To anyone who sees this post, it's my understanding that the moderator of the [community profile] smallfandombang has passed away. (Someone linked to the obituary from her personal blog's comments.) I feel sick. I didn't know her personally, but [community profile] ficwip was an affiliate of the bang, which I admire and always look forward to.

I am optimistic that someone else has access to her event accounts, but if that is not the case, I am happy to work backwards from the bang's comments sections to get in touch with everyone & finish the current round. I do not want to step on any toes, so this is just me putting up my hand as someone with a lot of bang experience.

If you belong to the ficwip discord, ping me there and I'll add you to a private channel. I made it so we can keep each other updated. Otherwise, I've created a Google Form to gather participant contact information just in case.

ETA: It sounds like other participants have considered contacting Dreamwidth about gaining admin access to the community, so please cross your fingers that it can be transferred to them! I don't have the spoons to formally adopt another series, so it's best in other hands that can continue to run it.

ETA2: Jeshi has put through a support request

ETA3: As of March 27th, I haven't heard any updates. Jeshi and I share a discord, so if/when they hear back from Dreamwidth, I'm sure they will mention it. As another option for people who would prefer not to wait or post entirely on their own, certain fandoms/ships might be eligible for [community profile] ficwip's be kind, rewind! discord event that runs through the end of May.

Looking forward to closing out this terrible year. It was not all bad. There were beautiful moments, but it was overshadowed by the grief of losing Luke to cancer. And now I seem to be staring down burnout, which is devastating since it's affecting something I love, but it means an opportunity to do something new.

Have not posted much this year but managed to finish three Nu:Carnival fics: one is for the winner of my 2025 giveaway, one is for an exchange, and the third is my fourth annual holiday fic.

I talk about the trio a little more in this post.

I've asked this on bluesky before, but this is probably a better place for the conversation. Why do you write? How do you keep creating in the face of things like depression, grief, disaster, global chaos? What keeps you coming back to it? What goals, if any, do you have for your own creativity?

Broke down sobbing over the poem "epithalamelegy" by Nate Marshall in the November issue of Poetry magazine. It isn't available online yet, but when it is, please read it.
