This community moves in threes

After 7 years, 11 months and 21 days of writing and playing music together us Mumm-ra boys have decided our journey as a band has come to an end. It has without doubt been the most fantastic adventure any of us could possibly have imagined all those years ago when the rather niave idea to form a band sprang from our young minds and led us to the nearest practise room.


Since then we have eaten in skyscrappers in tokyo, danced with tottenham fans in cologne, made a video in hollywood, posed with the playboy bunnies in barcelona, met real life rednecks in texas, had street fights with the view, played glastonbury, rocked the nme tour to pieces, supported the killers, the kooks and the kaiser chiefs around europe and generally just had the most incredible time along the way.


We would like to thank every single person who has supported us over the years whether it be through buying our album, coming to our gigs or just giving us a listen. No doubt various members will have new projects up and running in the near fututre. But until then......

I posted this up in my LJ earlier today, and thought I'd share it here in case y'all hadn't found it yet. It's a YouTube vid of the boys showing us around Bexhill-on-Sea.

So, I've opened a new roleplaying community: stranger_house!

In its essence, it's a Horrors roleplaying community, BUT.

BUT.

We don't want to focus on The 'Orrors alone (because that would just be embarrassing, really), but we need people from other bands as well! Currently, we're looking for everyone from Mumm-Ra aaaand a bunch of other people!

Basically, you can play anyone and everyone you like, as long as they are at least a teensy weensy bit connected to The Horrors. We're trying to create something like perfect_teacup, so help us out!

To join and play, you've got to create a separate LJ account for your character!

inalbion and I have consulted, and come up with rules for sharing music in this community! Aren't you excited?

Basically, it's this:

We WILL allow sharing of live and unreleased Mumm-Ra material, and songs that have only been released on vinyl, since many people do not have access to record players.

We WILL NOT allow sharing of officially released singles and albums, for various reasons, including 1) not wanting to get in trouble (most important!), 2) the availability of other communities/resources out there for such things, and 3) the fact that this takes money out of the band's pocket.

I hope everyone's O.K. with that decision!

Welcome to mumm_raband! Basically, this is a place to spazz about the phenomenal new English band Mumm-Ra. inalbion and I created it after seeing that Mumm-Ra was criminally unloved on LJ. Hopefully that will change soon. Right now, all types of posts are welcome. We might develop some rules later. I don't know. I'm pretty lazy.
