Now raise your hand if you've heard about Buffy/Angel.

I thought so.

Buffy/Angel is the couple nobody who's watched the series can ignore. You can like it, you can hate it, you can 'ship it for years after the shows are cancelled. But you can't ignore it.


And for the last seven years, November has become the month we remember Buffy/Angel the most:

The I Will Remember You marathon is a month of celebration. 30 different authors from all corners of fandom. 30 different stories with the same couple as their pivotal point. For 30 consecutive days (no exceptions!), we remember one of the couples that left their mark in TV.

Don't you want to be part of that?

Join us this year. There are no limits to the imagination. You can try behind-the-scenes, parallel dimensions, crossovers, fluff, dark, horror, angsty endings, happy endings, sappy endings... and Buffy/Angelus, too.

As long as the core of the story remains Buffy/Angel, there are no boundaries.

A new round of stagesoflove is starting up over here.

To play all you have to do is post a completed drabble/ficlet (of no less than 100 words) or art piece or sketch once a week over 5 to 7 weeks (depending on what theme set you choose). Each drabble, ficlet or art piece can be self-contained, but all combined must create some sort of overall story arc. ALL fandoms & pairings welcome.

fic_rush is a monthly, multi-fandom fanfiction marathon. You spend as much as you can of a 48 hour period writing fic, and tell everyone how you're doing by posting in our hourly check-in threads. You can chat, encourage each other, set goals for yourself...and then get back to writing fic. It's a great way to push past writer's block or just connect with other authors.

Round 1, which is sci-fi themed, is this weekend, starting Friday night/Saturday morning at midnight GMT.

eta: Since months later this post is still near the top of the comm, I thought I'd add this note for anyone who wanders in here and sees this ad. fic_rush is an ongoing, monthly thing. So if it sounds cool, don't let the date of this post scare you off!

masked_ball, a pan-canon, all-genre art/ficathon is open once more! We had a great turnout last year, with lots of great stories and art. I hope those of you who participated will come back, and that those of you who missed it the first time around will check us out.

How it works: story and art ideas are submitted, compiled, and claimed anonymously. You'll have until July 13th to write/draw, and the results will be posted, anonymously, throughout the summer. When everything's done, we reveal who did what.

Here's the prompt submission thread, and keep in mind you can submit prompts even if you don't want to create anything.

Remember all those poor, neglected plot bunnies that have been starving from lack of attention, because all those ficathons kept on having higher priority? The stories you wish you could finish, if only you could find the time? Well, fear not, the finish-a-thon is coming to the rescue!

The finish-a-thon is a ficathon, with all the ficathon-like things like deadlines and fellow volunteers to encourage you, but with this ficathon, you write your own ideas. But since part of the encouragement of a ficathon is writing things for other people, what we're going to do, is vote for which story ideas people should write.

merlin_santa, a Merlin secret santa gift exchange, is accepting sign ups until November 30th. Offers and requests may include any type of created gift, including fanfic, art, graphics, videos, fanmixes, layouts, etc. Assignments will be sent out in the first week of December, and gifts are due by January 3rd. remixthedrabble just opened signups for round 5 of their mini-fic remix challenge. Feel free to drop by and sign up as a Remixee (authorizing others to remix your fic) or a Remixer (remixing a work of another author in 100 to 500 words), or both! This challenge is open to any and all fandoms, including rpf, as long as you bring along a few friends so we'll have someone to match you with.

Signups are open until Saturday, October 18, and finished ficlets will be due November 15. Come by! It'll be fun. :)
