SCREENING

Bugsy Malone

Sunday, Jul 26, 2026 at 1:00 pm

Location: Redstone Theater

Dir. Alan Parker. 1976, 93 mins. U.S. 35mm. With Jodie Foster, Scott Baio, Florence Garland, John Cassisi. A peppy, Oscar-nominated song score by the great Paul Williams enlivens this beloved one-of-a-kind comedy-musical oddity which features an all-child cast acting out the gangland saga of Bugsy Malone (Baio) as he fights for power in Prohibition-era New York. The film functions as a spoof of classic Hollywood mob movies, but it has its own unique, earnest charm, and features Jodie Foster (the same year as Taxi Driver!) as stoic chanteuse Tallulah, who comes between upstart Bugsy and speakeasy owner Fat Sam. All the mayhem is G-rated, including machine guns that fire whipped cream, and all the songs will leave you tapping your toes.

Tickets: $17.50 / $12 senior and students / $10 youth (ages 3–17) / free for MoMI members at the Senior/Student level and above. There is a $1.50 transaction fee per ticket for all online purchases. The cost of admission may be applied toward a same-day purchase of a membership.
