Maybe Tired?

@mouldy-gremlin

Behold the soup that is my brain! Big nerd, I love ttrpgs and I paint warhammer figures too. Usually I post miniatures I’ve been working on. She/her

Hey, been a while since I posted any minis here. Been bouncing between projects and haven’t really gotten much to a point where I’d want to show em off.

I did end up getting back to the unit of Myrmidesh Painbringers I’ve had lying around.

Can’t say I’m making things easy for myself with this paint scheme. With basically the whole model being nmm they do take quite a while.

I’ve been kinda struggling to figure out how I want to do the different materials but it feels like I’ve finally got that down properly.

Still some stuff left to do on this one, gotta touch ups some areas a bit, paint the sword blade and the base. At least most of the difficult stuff is out of the way and I’ll soon be able to call this one done. Then I’ll just have to go back and fix some colours on the two I have mostly painted and paint the two remaining ones.

After that I guess I just need to paint five more…

Making good progress on the dreadnought. Since my last post I’ve built his base, added some greeblies in the multi melta arm and gotten to work on the painting.

Still quite a ways to go but I’m happy with how he’s turning out. Many areas and details still need some love and lots of stuff I need to clean up.

Decided to have some fun with the multi melta. Figured a gun like that might get a bit hot after firing a few times.

So much work left to do on the non metallic metal. Somehow didn’t realise just how much there’d be on this model.

Overall I’m happy with the progress so far. hope to-post the finished model soon.

Dug up an old monopose dreadnought from an Assault on Black Reach box and figured it was about time I did something with it.

Here it is after some reposing and dark angels bits. Still a bit of work left but progressing nicely.

The arms are easy enough. The legs and feet on the other hand were kind of a pain but a sharp knife, a pin vice, a sacrificial paperclip and a bunch of glue makes surprisingly many things possible.

I’ve been getting back into a project that has needed some love for many years. The first 40k army I ever started collecting was space marines and over the years I’ve built up quite a pile of shame. At first i intended to paint them as Blood Ravens, but I never really got to painting them. I later came into possession of two dark vengeance boxes worth of dark angels so I figured I might as well make that my marine army.

The first ten tactical marines now have their transfers applied and are ready for a dusting of pigment powder and a coat of matte varnish.

A pretty large portion of my marines are from two assault on black reach box sets which when added to the aforementioned dark vengeance boxes and other assorted space marines adds up to way too damn many.

I made the questionable choice of using NMM on my chaplain in terminator armour and Lion El’Jonson so now I kinda feel I have to keep that up for the rest of the army. Making them 4th company (the marking on the kneepad) was also a choice since literally any other company would be easier.

Listen, as a certified dark angels hater (got my liscence)

These minis are baller and are making me reevaluate my feelings

As an unlicensed dark angels enjoyer.

Thanks, I’m glad you like em and the kind words are truly appreciated!

Made a gnome for a dnd campaign I’m playing in. The setting is sort of a bronze age norse deal with an emphasis on the stranger creatures found in local folklore. Tried going for a mix between an old beekeeping mask and a gnome hat

He’s an artificer and I’ll be going into alchemist when we hit level 3. The plan is to make mead and flavour the experimental elixirs around that.

The log on his back is based on some early domesticated bee hives. Hoping to turn it into an alchemy jug for a steady supply of honey.

Made mostly in hero forge with a little bit of green stuff. The log was made from a piece of dried out raspberry root.

Four new cultists done

Really like how smoothly converting this guy went. didn’t expect to have such an easy time putting the gun from the Cawdor polearm onto an unmade spear.

I haven’t been making too many heavy grenade crossbows since they seem a lil cheesy but I figured having one more wouldn’t hurt. Had to give this guy a bigger base cause of the wide stance plus massive crossbow

Another bone picker, I do love the amputated murder arms from the unmade kit. Fits with the crazed flagellants idea I’m going for.

Really love the mean ass bayonet on this gun, Cawdor truly has one of the best aesthetics in Necromunda. Quite happy with the fire grenade on this one, wanted to try and reflect the fiery light coming from the floor in the glass and I think it worked.

Over all a good time but I may take a lil break from painting Necromunda for a bit and see if I can’t get some paint on one of my other projects.

Got my hands on an old lord of Slaanesh on daemonic mount a while back. Here’s hoping it’s not too hot for tumblr.

They’ve been a nice little side project to paint in between the Necromunda figures.

There’s still some work to be done on this model but I’m liking my progress so far. Also need to get a coat of matte varnish on them to deal with the gloss from the contrast paints I used for some of the glazing.

If you ever get one of these, the most important piece of advice I can give is to swap out the stick holding up the banner for something sturdier like a brass rod. It’s a bit of a hassle but it’s worth the effort. The soft metal they used means that the very thin banner pole is incredibly weak to the point where it would start drooping whenever i turned the model.

Been a while since I last posted but I have been working on miniatures

Like this guy with a blunderbuss polearm. The moment I saw the man catcher in the unmade kit I knew this had to be done.

This is a warp horror for the gang. Still need to figure out a base for it and do some lighting around the fire.

Pretty happy with this firebrand and his friend who is probably doomed to explode (always overcharge plasma to keep things interesting)

Assorted bone pickers. since their special rule lets you bring a D3 extra on missions I wanted to make sure I had a decent supply.

This is by no means everything new, I’ve also been working on a couple models for AoS and 40k as well but couldn’t really fit them in this post.

Mature content

Some friends and I were playing an RPG over discord and i felt like doodling. I got out the pens and pencils and once I started I couldn’t stop. Pretty happy with how it turned out.

The party is going around on a spell jammer, doing mercenary work. All the characters are absolute weirdos and it’s wonderful.

I’m playing as a magical ooze inhabiting a diving suit.

It’s having a snack :)

A bit more progress on my cultists.

Half of them still need a bit of work before I can start painting.

These first four were assembled before I’d gotten around to printing the new heads. Still lots of work left on these but they’re shaping up nicely.

I’m pretty happy with how the flayed bits are turning out.

The unmade and cawdor bits went together with relative ease so I didn’t have to do too much with green stuff

Four more ready for priming. The black resin and poor lighting really isn’t doing the printed parts any favours in these photos.

After messing around a bit with the heads in blender and printing a batch i could put a few more together, these four are the ones I’ve gotten to a point where i feel i can start slapping some paint on them.

I’m liking the variety added by the new heads and unmade bodies

They’re mostly equipped with pistols and sharp things as i needed some more bone pickers and zealots

When I first started making this cult I figured it’d be a small side project that maybe got a new model or two now and then. Since then it’s become one of my absolute favourite things to work on, I’ll look at completely unrelated models and start trying to figure out how I can turn them into something i can use for the cult.

Hopefully gonna have more pictures of this batch of conversions soon as I make more progress. There are also a few other models I’ve made for this cult that I haven’t showed yet so you can look forward to those as well.

I couldn’t wait to paint this one. This is the new model for my necromunda gang leader. Converted from a blissful one, I’m really happy with how he’s turned out.

Not the best light for taking pictures but ill get some better ones once I’m done with the rest of the heretics.

His name is Lakalom the pilgrim, he is not the first to bear the name nor will he be the last. It is said that those who take on the name will begin to act more like him for every day that passes and even claiming to be the very one who crossed the ash wastes on foot in search of the gifts offered by the great pyre.

I had this idea of making some of the new heretics partially flayed as they take the redemptionist beleif in purification through pain and twisted it to perfection through pain.

I absolutely love the designs of the unmade and knew early on that I had to do something with them for this project. Had to change his pose a bit in order to even get him to fit on a 32mm base

He’s probably my favourite conversion so far. All the pieces came together without much struggle and painting him was really fun.

Here he is next to his old model. The old one was already too tall for some of the terrain we use and this glow up sure ain’t helping.

It begins!

A quick update. I’ll be expanding the Slaanesh cult quite a bit. Do I really need 19 more cultists? No, but is it in the spirit of excess to add 19 more cultists to my already quite large gang? Hell yes it is!

I’ve been sitting on a box of Cawdor for a while and waiting until i felt i could comfortably order some Unmade for some kitbashing

My progress so far with some Redemptionist bits thrown in for good measure. I still need to mess around with the heads in blender a bit so I can start printing.

I’ve remade my old gang leader as i thought he deserved a bit of a glow up. The stilts and even beefier chain glaive really help make him proper menacing.

A couple of player characters for D&D

First is a half orc warlock I’m playing in an evil campaign. Made in eldritch foundry. Arrogant, cranky and a blast to play. I saw the skull pauldrons and couldn’t resist

Second is a dwarf fighter I’ll be playing in an upcoming campaign. I was looking at dwarves on myminifactory when i found this fella and figured he would work pretty well so i bought the file, swapped his axe blade for a warpick.

The design is from Trudvang, a norse mythology inspired setting with some truly spectacular art direction.

The original model is by Myr Tabletop on myminifactory

Finished this guy a couple weeks ago but haven’t gotten around to taking any decent pictures until now.

I got him as a birthday present and simply had to get started as soon as possible.

This model has been a real test of my skill and patience but I’m happy with how he turned out. I didn’t realise quite how huge he is before I’d put him together.

Non metallic Lion El’Jonson was truly an undertaking. The sheer amount of complex gold caught me off guard and getting the green armour right took some time.

I had some struggles figuring out what i wanted to do with his sword but i landed on a vibrant green as I like power weapons nice and colourful.

A closer look at his plasma pistol. Over all he’s been a fun project even though the size and complexity of this figure made the process a little more taxing than usual.

I already have a bunch of first born marines that have been gathering dust for far too long and it’s about time i got around to them.

Here are the tactical marines that are ripped off their old 25mm bases and ready for some paint and new 32 mm bases but I have a bunch more that I need to paint strip.

Most of my old space marines are from two assault on black reach boxes and two dark vengeance boxes. So lots of monopose marines and lots of air brush work to be done.
