I have just about learned how to crochet again. I had to practice a lot to get it looking good and right again, what with not doing it in years and my hands not knowing how to do anything at the moment. Also half forgetting and looking at pictures alla time.
I've got a huge amount of thin suede and leather, and I want to make my one nephew a leather quilt for Xmas. The pieces will have to be really big and there will be no backing. For my 1st trick, I've just pretreated it all and will run it through the wash on hot because the nephling is 16 and I want it to be washable.
We ordered the littlest niece this kit of paint them yourself nesting dolls off Amazon. Because she's only 7 we decided to get the ones with the faces stamped on, instead of completely blank and do it all yourself.
And the Halloween party I skipped out on last night because I was too tired from all the packing and moving of other people's stuff? The highlights of the evening included the host's 17-year-old son getting drunk and punching a 2-inch-thick oak door and breaking his hand, some dude pulling a knife and scratching the host's face with it, the 17-year-old calling granny to come get him, and the drunken, furious host calling granny and demanding she bring him back. She declined.
She debated for hours about taking him to the hospital, was afraid they would not treat him for her because she is not the guardian and would remove him from the family if they contacted the father in the state he was in. Daddy came and got him this morning.
Some people should not drink. They are cheerful, sorta stupid, fun to be with, common scum of the earth most days, but daymn. I have no clue. What do you do with them?
But she hasn't had time to worry about him because her 83-year-old momma fainted and they are at the hospital.
So we don't know if sonny's hand is broken or not. And he's the one that does all my yardwork, because the other dude that used to is in jail awaiting trial for choking his girlfriend so hard he gave her a black ring around her neck. He says he didn't do it, so his friends believe him. And he already has a new female waiting on him hand and foot and bringing him stuff every day and plastering stuff all over Facebook about how cool he is.
Meanwhile, back at the ranch, I have volunteered to drive her to court and his stupid friends have told me I should not because he used to work for me and I should show him some respect for mowing my lawn 3 years.
Really? He's not my BFF, he's my ex-employee who used to eat soup and sandwiches with me after. I'm positive nobody could ever put marks like that on themselves. Could you imagine squeezing your neck until you have a bruise necklace?
I suspect there is a reason he was not given bail. Maybe just a tiny one.
