“Who gave you that collar?” Asked the younger one. “I did. No one owns me except myself.” Said The First Unicorn

“We have a gift for you!” Said The Magician, presenting a hand-made pendant. The Unicorn was touched by the gift. “Thank you.” She smiled.

Shame for how she had spoken to the creature hung heavy around The Unicorn’s neck. She wished to apologize for how she had behaved.

Then, a young wizard appeared. Their magic was shabby and haphazard, their clothes fit poorly, but The Unicorn could see they were trying to make something beau- “They think they can make beautiful things like us?” Jeered The Witch’s Unicorn. The Unicorn froze.

Wizards, warlocks and magicians were subject to the delicious mockery. How foolish of them to think they could equal The Witch? “What a fool!” Snorted The Unicorn. And The Witch was soothed.

“What a fool!” The Witch cackled into her orb. “Come, come see this clown make himself look stupid!” She beckoned The Unicorn. The Unicorn was relieved to be included.

The Unicorn felt her collar tighten. “I want to make beautiful things.”

“Well you didn’t.” The Witch’s Unicorn retorted.
