Ultima

Ultima is a festival for boundary-pushing sonic experiences. With an ear to the present, the festival embraces innovative music, community, and the sound of a world in constant change.

Every September, Ultima takes over Oslo with ten days of concerts, installations, theatre, opera, dance, film, talks and more – for adults, young people and children alike.

The programme spans a wide range, from classical contemporary music to noise, improvisation, folk, jazz and rock, and unfolds across stages, museums, clubs, streets and other unexpected venues throughout the city. (2026)

The festival has been held since 1991.
