Communities you mod/maintain: ljgames_au which is an interactive online reality game that I created mainly for Australians but still accept international players if they really want to play. It is a difficult one to run because it is a hard concept to grasp for new players and a lot of people aren't willing to jump in and play a game they don't really understand. Even though most, if not all players who have tried have told me that they have had a great time. We have a lot of loyal players who return to play multipul rounds but it is really difficult getting in new players.
Also becuase there is a few games similar on livejournal that offers a lot of competition.

beautifuldreams which is a much easier community to manage. It is a community for people to discuss or share their dreams. There has never been any dramas, but I do have trouble getting members to actually comment on each others posts and interact with each other. I found when it was a small community most of the players even recognized each other and really got along, but now it is a big community it seems that everybody is interested in talking about their own dreams but not reading about other peoples.

What do you hope to get out of this and/or your community(ies)?
A couple of different things.
In ljgames_au I would love some advice on how to bring new players into the game. I already offer a prize of 6 months paid livejournal time for the winner which has brought in a couple more new players but not as many as I was hoping for.
In beautifuldreams I would love some advice on how to bring back that community spirit and get my members interacting with each other while still staying on topic.
Plus just a place to go if I ever run into some dramas *crosses fingers* that I don't though lol.

Well I just got handed the reins of the community unexpectedly so I want to have a better idea of what I'm doing. In addition I've been wanting to learn a little bit more about the layout and design capabilities in LJ for the community but also for my own journal. In short: I'm here to steal your brains.

Communities you mod/maintain: ask_a_nurse and female_fans.
What do you hope to get out of this and/or your community(ies)?

I honestly hope to just get some advice on moderating a community. There are times when I feel like banging my head against the wall because the members either don't listen or just fail to follow the simple rules. This is especially in ask_a_nurse where everyone feels like they have a PhD in everyone else's health matters.

For female_fans its a new sports community for women sports fans. I really want help promoting it and just getting it started with as little drama as possible. I don't want to run the community and micro manage everything, but I do want everything to run smoothly.

What do I hope to get out of modding this community: Hoping to "clean up" the advice being given to people who are asking for help, make sure people are getting safe and appropriate advice, and also to be able to help people with their problems, empower them to help themselves.

So myself and four other people took over modding a really busy community a couple of months ago. We revamped the look and layout, and started creating more rules and structure.

I'm noticing lately, a lot of deleted comments and replies in threads. I suspect it's people who know they aren't following the rules and don't want to be told off or have their post deleted, etc. I was wondering if there's a way to keep replies and comments from being deleted, or to have a copy of them emailed to the mods? I checked in the community settings, and it looks like it's already set up to email comments to the community's main email address. But that isn't happening... And it's a gmail account, so I don't think it would filter out stuff from LJ.

I really want to keep track of what people are saying, in case they are being snarky and deleting it, or violating the community rules, and need to be banned. We've had a few people causing trouble who didn't like the new rules and structure, so it's an ongoing issue.

I appreciate any help anyone can give me! :)

Communities you mod/maintain: xmidnight_drive and electrikk__ I created both of them.
What do you hope to get out of this and/or your community(ies)? I need help getting more members and having ideas on how to make it a fun popular community. midnight drive used to be very active and now it's not so i deleted all the members unless they wanted to stay in which case they had to promote in 5 places. It's more based on a balance of looks and inner beauty. I just made electrikk and i want it to be harsher. i want hot members and the elite only. i just made it but no one is joinging and i need help!
