This week's Friday Fill-in:

1. I know that gray rainy days make me appreciate the warm sunny days that follow.
2. In my mind there is no such thing as the longest month.
3. You can't help but scream sometimes.
4. Living; bring it on!
5. Where have you looked for those lost thoughts that disappear when you are suddenly distracted?
6. My friendship is now available.
7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to El Cuerpo del Deseo, tomorrow my plans include El Cuerpo del Deseo marathon and Sunday, I want to watch more El Cuerpo del Deseo!

My guilty pleasure and mother-daughter-bonding-thingamajig has been El Cuerpo del Deseo; it's a Spanish-language telenovela that originally aired in 2005 and has recently been added to Netflix. We've been watching it together for the past two weeks. My mom loved it when it had originally aired on TV; I didn't watch it but I had known about it. It's very entertaining and dare I say, GOOD. It still has those things that annoy me about telenovelas: overacting and faulty logic. However, they are not annoying me and it's not due to the constant fanservice (seriously! an episode hasn't gone by where you don't see the protagonist's abs). Maybe it's because it doesn't take itself too seriously? Oh, and the production values are nice, I'm sure that helps.

Before this, we were watching Keeping Up Appearances, a brit-com from the 90's. We bonded over Hyacinth's ploys and backfired plans. We felt sorry for Richard while at the same time questioning his sanity. Oh and her family, her awesome, yet poor family. Why Hyacinth? Why don't you want people to know that they're yours? We then watched a few episodes of 30 Rock. We both love Kenneth. My mom thinks of him as a tiny baby deer that she wants to protect. 'Ai, pobrecito. Porque lo tratan asi?' So much fun!
