In an effort to use this space more I've decided to resort to the almighty memes. I'll definitely try Illustration Friday and Photo Friday. The daily meme has great daily meme suggestions, which is where I found Friday Fill-ins.
1. The last band I saw live was Bad Religion.
They played a free concert at my university during week 0. It was at the start of my second year of college. It was the first and only time that I ever went to a concert by myself in an enclosed area. I didn't enjoy it at all. The music was great, but it got a bit wild, someone pushed me hard, and I just felt so out of place. I realized that I didn't like being in crowds by myself and I've been too timid to ask others to come to shows with me, so I've never been to another concert since. The sad thing is that my university had a great campus entertainment program where some great indie bands would come to play, but I was too something to go.
2. What I look forward to most on Thanksgiving is the food.
My family being Hispanic, we never got the whole point of Thanksgiving. My parents were grateful for the time off work, and I off school, but other than that, it was just another day with special food. (Well, now that I think about it, I guess we did get it, the whole being grateful for time off...) So I never really thought of it in different terms. I just really like turkey with gravy and pumpkin pie. I will try to make the pie this year.
3. My Christmas/holiday shopping is non-existent to minimal.
There aren't that many special people in my life right now. The only person I plan on giving something for Christmas is my mom, and she's getting handmade stuff from my knitting endeavors. I realized recently that I would have liked to join a swap for Christmas/the holidays. The only one I found on ravelry was closed, and I forgot the name of the mail swap website I found a while ago. So if anyone, on my f-list would like to do a gift swap with me, I'm all ears. We could set a price limit or have it be handmade or something.
4. Thoughts of bunnies fill my head.
Bunnies are so cute. I prefer anime bunnies because they are adorable and pounce the bad thoughts away. I wish it was so, but I just feel a wave of ennui washing over me, and a little bit of this and a little bit of that is was fills my head. I just thought of Anya in a bunny costume and now I feel better.
5. I wish I could wear stuff.
I wear stuff all the time, but there are times where I wish I could wear other stuff. Different stuff, from the stuff I normally wear. Stuff, stuff, stuff.
6. Bagpipes rock!
A few weeks ago when watching shows on Hulu, the Halo 3: ODST commercial would come on, quite constantly. I remember really liking the funeral song. I think it had bagpipes in it, I don't remember. I mostly enjoyed the voice of the woman singing it and now I wish I could listen to it right now.
7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to finishing knitting my bag, tomorrow my plans include cleaning the kitchen and bathroom and Sunday, I want to sleep all day long!
Thusly ends this Friday Fill-in.
