Are you fed-up with garbage, full-of-shit sites where nobody actually communicates, such as Facebook, Instagram, TikTok and Twitter? Do you wish your old friends who've migrated to those sites would return to LiveJournal? The the_lj_revival community has been set up with that aim in mind, and you are invited to join it. If you are already on LiveJournal and still have a Facebook profile, and would like to see more people returning to LJ or setting up accounts here, we invite you to post a link to this community on your Facebook Timeline. If you would like to find out who is still using LiveJournal and make contact with those who are already here, you are invited to copy and paste the 'about me' questions on the profile page and post them with your answers to the community.

Help appreciated.

 Hi everyone.

I've come to you with a request. I've been tracking down this one track for a while now. It's called Huge Frontier (Thanatos's L.F.L.B.d.L.V. Remix). I found out that it should be available as a free download in mixi, but obviously there is no way I can get an account all by myself.

So if anyone can help me somehow I'd appreciate it very much (account or mp3).
This is the link I've found for it:
http://mixi.jp/view_community.pl?id=3455670

Thanks in advance.

Ashiato is gone

If I understand the announcement right, they created some kind of consolidated event management UI element, which took over the old ashiato. The problem is, I cannot see it. I do not have "その他" either, and have no clue where to find it.

Could this be popup-blocking of flash-blocking in Firefox?

UPDATE: As it turned out, the whole UI (with 4 buttons) only appears if there is an activity to display. Someone finally visited today, and the bar appeared with 3 buttons grayed out, one available to bring a pop-in hover with visits. Frankly it's a sad excuse for Ashiato, but oh well.

Limited number of mixi accounts available

Edit: As of May 2013, these accounts are no longer available.

To our mixi community:

As far as I can tell, mixi accounts can still be created. There are few methods which I checked last week that will validate an account.

These accounts will be provided free of charge. You'll need to follow these instructions.

How?

  1. Make, print or find a postcard.

Any one will work. If you don't have one ready, you can print a picture on a thick piece of paper and cut it out.

  2. Post a comment in this thread, so we know who sent the postcard.

Make sure to post an image of the postcard or describe it. Or you can write your LJ username or e-mail on the postcard.

You can also send me a private LJ message. Do not post your e-mail or mailing address on LJ, use the message system for that.

  3. Mail the postcard to:

Once I've received your postcard, you will receive a username (e-mail address) and password to your new mixi account typically within two weeks. This will be sent to your LJ inbox or to an e-mail address you specified.

Account requests are subject to discretion, and this program may end at any time. For example, if my mixi method stops working, you may not get an account.

Why?

There were too many people posting in comments and private messages asking for mixi accounts and I didn't have a lot of time to create accounts.

I have little way of knowing whether a request is genuine or how seriously the person wants the account. It's unfair to other users if people with ill intentions are using multiple mixi accounts to promote religion, make unwanted advances on girls, or send out advertising.

A postcard does not have monetary value to the receiver, so I do not have a motive to obtain them, and I do not take upon an obligation to return any value. The time it takes to send one helps limit requests to people who truly want a mixi account, and costs only a small amount of postage to send.

Note:

  • The address above is inside a picture

  • You may share this LJ post's URL. However, I discourage you from sharing the postal address, as it may change frequently.

  • The picture above will be has been updated to include an Intelligent Mail (IM) machine readable barcode. You can use it into a program like Photoshop or Word.

Mixi peeps!

Hey mixi users,

I've been away from LJ for a bit due to extended circumstances (of what is now called "funemployment"), and have had but precious little time to check in.

When I have time - when that will happen I don't know - I will recheck whether the .edu whitelist method is working. If it is, I will share either a batch of accounts or a method to recycle .edu addresses.

In the meantime feel free to post your results using the .edu method.
