Black Swan is known for paving the way for the now legendary dubstep scene in Louisiana, yet she continues to champion the genre’s dark and innovative sounds. Under her wings of change, she founded Louisiana Dubstep in 2008, booking the state’s first dubstep headliners, organizing the first dubstep events, and promoting the genre on her Sunday Worship radio show. Drawing from the nest she built in the early 2000s with a punishing brand of DnB, she went on to birth seminal dubstep events Swamp Wamp, Pressure, and Black Swan’s Dub Chamber, ushering in a cultural shift at a venue that eventually housed the infamous Bass Church. Ever on a search for the most forward styles, her meticulously curated sets seamlessly blend a cerebral palette with unapologetic aggression, spanning 140, grime, experimental bass, DnB, UK garage, and crossover. Her most cherished feedback includes those who credit her for converting them to bass music and for inspiring other female artists.
