São Paulo, Brazil
An inveterate Paulista native, the nuances of urbanity permeated Laylah Arruda's style of being and sound. Her main path is the Sound System scene eradicated in Brazil, coming from Jamaica and she is one of the first artists of this movement in the country, performing as Singjay (she sings melodically and also toast)
In 2016, she created Feminine Hi-Fi, with Dani Pimenta and other lovely partners.
It is in this musical scene, of dub, of avant-garde, urban reggae, in which she consolidated her language and her releases.
Her new album - TANTO - is scheduled for release next November, 2024
