Friday September 5th 1997 saw the launch of one of the UK’s biggest club nights at the now legendary Club Colosseum in Vauxhall, London. Over the next 3 and a half years LIBERTY established itself as London’s premier weekly House & Garage event running every Friday until December 2000. The brainchild of then up and coming Garage Dj Martin Larner, the night soon gathered a reputation as the place to be to hear cutting edge upfront UK Garage, steering away from the commercial side of the scene to focus on the more underground sound of UKG it is responsible for establishing the careers of the likes of the So Solid Crew, Pied Piper, Martin Larner, Maxwell D, Tee Bone, Mc Charlie Brown, Mc Sparks, Mc teller & Spin E B. It was a main testing ground for new music, in part due to the phenomenal sound system of the Club Colosseum and can claim 1st plays on tracks like Tee Bone ft Mc Sparks & Kie – Fly Bi’ ‘Da Click – Good Rhymes’ ‘So Solid - Oh No’ & ‘Pied Piper & MOC - Do You Really Like It?
