bu = Boston University. I went to college there for three years, and I still follow their hockey team and sometimes college news.
cowboy mouth = a band from New Orleans. They have been one of my favorites for a very long time.
nostalgia = I love looking at old pictures and getting in touch with old friends. I also like old things.
heckling yankees fans = I like the Boston Red Sox. I also think that the Yankees are evil incarnate. I also enjoy letting their fans know that.
starbucks = I have a mild coffee addiction. I stop at Starbucks on my way to work every day.
cookies = I like to eat them, and I like to bake them, though I rarely do anymore.
diablo = Since they announced Diablo 3, I've been playing Diablo 2 more and more.

Everyone else is doing it...

Give me a topic -ANY TOPIC- and I will write my thoughts on it. The catch? You have to post this in your journal and I get to pick the topic you write about.

Rules: Whatever the topic is that you write about you must have at least 10 sentences or 2 paragraphs. Let's have fun. And this is freewriting so I'm not asking you to deliver a masterpiece, just two paragraphs of your thoughts on whatever it is the person requests.

Ok, let's go.

These are the top 106 books most often marked as "unread" by LibraryThing's users (as of today). As usual, bold what you have read, italicize what you started but couldn't finish, and strike through what you couldn't stand.

To tell you the truth, I read most of these in high school and college.  I also like to read, but it seems like most of these people should have read as part of a basic education.

Harry Potter!!

Anyone in the Shreveport or Natchitoches area interested in a midnight showing (and a place to crash after if needed) let me know! I'm pretty pumped about this.

I have lots to say as an entry, but don't feel like typing much. The short version is: ADVANCE, new job, surgery, clean apartment, naughty puppy, in a wedding. For the future: baby shower, Austin (?), visit from family. If you have questions about any of these, leave a comment!

winding down...

The school year is winding down. Next week I will be insanely busy with paperwork and grading and etc. I also need to clean my classroom. In other news our LEAP scores were awesome! I'm anxious to get my kids' ITBS scores in.

I'm starting to get anxious about ADVANCE, but also really excited about it, too! Seriously, I'd be ready to move in to Caddo tomorrow and be ok with that.

Today we went to Seth's house for mother's day. His mom is awesome and gave me a set of encyclopedias for my classroom. We went to a campground and hung out with all of his family, which was fun. Reggie pooped in the car. Poor Elizabeth was in the backseat with him.

Tomorrow Seth has to go work graduation, and I have to grade a ton of papers. I got behind for a variety of reasons, such as my great uncle dying, having a nasty cold, and having a ton of meetings after school. Not really looking forward to it...

ADVANCE

So, as Seth already said, I was offered the position of CRL, and I took it, so I'm pretty excited about that. Like, it goes beyond the usual ready for school to be over thing. I am really ready for ADVANCE to start!

The school year is winding down. I've learned that if I have a "night cap" (Alka Seltzer Plus PM) I can sleep through the crying puppy. Right now the puppy is chewing on the cat, and she is not amused.

Things here are good. Television shows are back in not-reruns, the Sox are off to a reasonably good start, and there are only 21 days of students, and that includes two half days, at least one field trip, career day, and field day! Everything is falling into place!
