Mining Matters is seeking a responsible, committed and independent individual to fill the position of Bilingual Programs Coordinator. Under the supervision of the Executive Director, the incumbent will provide general project management, administrative, correspondence and planning support, primarily for the English and French programs of Mining Matters | Une mine de renseignements and the CSMO Mines. These programs include French immersion, core French, French as a second language, camps, teacher training initiatives and public awareness activities.
The Bilingual Programs Coordinator will actively participate in and provide project-based support for new pilot programs, including school outreach activities, school program planning and development at conferences, and teacher training workshops, including some facilitation and teaching activities. The position also includes developing and updating databases of French-speaking schools and teachers, contributing to Mining Matters and CSMO Mines publications and editing written translations, ordering and managing educational materials, promoting professional development workshops, and attending and reporting on educational meetings as required.
The Coordinator also supports the management and development of strategic partnerships with community, educational, government and industry partners. Working with the internal team, project team and external stakeholders, the person helps to build strong, respectful relationships that foster program delivery, community engagement and long-term collaborations. This includes coordinating communications, supporting partnership activities and participating in planning to ensure that programs are in line with community priorities and partner objectives.
