BUCK & EDDIE IN EVERY EPISODE
↳ 6.02: crash and learn
because the notes of this post by @tweetsongs got me rambling with @fraddit about it: eddie accidentally curses buck with obedience. they're having a fight about something and eddie yells something like god i wish you'd just shut up and do as you're told for once in your life and buck... does. he stops pushing back on eddie. he stops arguing. he greets eddie's every move with passive adoring compliance. and at first eddie thinks buck is fucking with him and then he thinks buck is genuinely hurt and trying to fix things between them and then he gradually realizes with slowly dawning horror that buck can't help it.
so then he has to go on a quest (with this quiet, passive, compliant version of buck who is not his buck tagging along) to track down the source of the curse and fix it. he hates it so much. he hates that buck just keeps agreeing with him, and he hates that magic is apparently real, and he hates that he's gradually figuring out that he's in love with buck and he can't say it to him now obviously -
anyway, he finally tracks down the witch or whoever gave him the wish in the first place and he gets them to reverse it. and the first thing his buck says to him is 'I FUCKING TOLD YOU CURSES ARE REAL AND I'M NEVER GOING TO LET YOU LIVE IT DOWN.'
and eddie kisses him senseless out of sheer relief.
i do think the recent fansite drama has illustrated that a lot of people on the modern web kind of don't know how to function in environment where they're neither a customer nor a product
I think what we really really need, narratively speaking, is some kind of dramatic rope/harness malfunction while they're dangling off a cliff face or the edge of a building (actually, no, definitely cliff face - so it would be harder/nigh impossible to get a mat inflated beneath them) and eddie is moments away from falling to his probable death when buck grabs hold of him with one hand, and buck can't get the purchase to pull eddie up to get his legs around him for a safer grip so it's just buck slowly dislocating his shoulder whilst he holds onto eddie for dear life and eddie holds onto him, and when buck's grip starts to slip eddie's just staring up into his eyes telling him it's okay, it's okay, you're okay, whilst up above the rest of the team are frantically working to fix the malfunction and winch them up to safety.
let's put their lives literally in each other's hands, as a treat
